Mallie Hopkins
Mallie Hopkins was born in
Marshall, MI; she moved to Memphis
in 1972. She has two sons, Sean and
Troy, that she raised on her own; and
six grandchildren. The most valuable
advice she got fromMom is to learn and
grow even from negative experiences;
mistakes are opportunities to learn.
She admits to loving marshmallow
and peanut butter sandwich, which her
granddaughter finds hilarious.
She attended Rhodes College and
became proficient in Bookkeeping I
and II. She worked at Tennessee Bolt
and Screw. Then, for twenty years, she
served as Administrator of Payroll and
Employee 401K Accounts at Purchase
Parts.
Mallie is very active in her church,
including volunteering to visit home-
bound parishioners. For three years, she
also worked a night shift at St. Jude’s
Hospital. Other night shifts included
Dillard’s Department Store.
Personal interests include writing
poetry, swimming, word puzzles,
reading, listening to gospel and oldies
music, and dancing. She plays baseball
and even has quite a kick in football.
A sunny disposition; a caretaker by
choice – Kirby Pines will make good
use of her talents.
