a tour of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospi-
tal and lunch at Paulette’s. The bus will

Bowling
Come join the fun every Wednesday af-
ternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Large Card
Room. No skill required. It’s new and
it’s FUN! NEWS FLASH: You can now
play Wii with friends or your grandkids
any time in the Large Card Room! It is
set up on the tv. All you have to do is
check out the remotes from the Front
Desk and return them whenever your
game is over.

at The Kroc Center
The Salvation Army Greater Memphis
Women’s Auxiliary cordially invites
you to “Bridge and More” on Tuesday,
August 6th. Games will be played from
10:00
a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Kroc
Center on East Parkway. Cost is $25.00
per person which includes lunch, a si-
lent auction and high score prize. Call

The First Monday Poetry Group meets

recite from memory. Share a favorite
verse or two as others share their verse
with you. Every first Monday at 10:00
a.m. all poetry lovers have a spot. Check
out The Poet’s Corner on the post office
bulletin board. A residential poet will be
featured each month.

The Eroica Ensemble Presents
A Chamber Muisc Program”
The Eroica Ensemble and their Music
Director Michael Gilbert presents “A
Chamber Music Program” featuring
friends of the Ensemble on August 4th
at 3:00 pm in The Performing Arts Cen-
ter at Kirby Pines.
The Eroica Ensemble’s founder and
conductor, Michael Gilbert, is a native
of Memphis, Tennessee. Gilbert, a for-
mer violinist of the New York Philhar-
monic for thirty years, also served as
concertmaster of such orchestras as the
San Antonio Symphony, Santa Fe Op-
era Orchestra, and the American Sym-
phony Orchestra. Over the years Gil-
bert has worked with many influential
musicians including Leonard Bernstein,
Pablo Casals, Kurt Masur, Leopold Sto-
kowski, Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez,
and Ivan Galamian to name a few.
The Eroica Ensemble consists of about
45
musicians, from various parts of the
world to right here in Memphis, Ten-
nessee. These musicians bring many
great experiences from the New York
Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Or-
chestra, the New World Symphony, the
Kansas City Symphony and the Mem-
phis Symphony. Members of the Eroica
Ensemble hold degrees from some of
the country’s finest conservatories and
college music programs, including the
Julliard School, Manhattan School of
Music, Eastman School of Music and
the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
This is an afternoon of music you will
not want to miss!

fun playing shuffleboard! Relieve stress
by getting your mind off of things, so-
cialize and engage in some friendly
competition.
Shuffleboard will be held every
Wednesday in the PAC at 10:00 a.m.
and every Saturday in the PAC at 4 p.m.
