So welcome to Kirby Pines, we're glad you chose us as your home. Rhe t ta & B i l l Wat k i n s J oan i e Mo r gan Joanie Morgan was born in Henderson, Tennessee, but comes to Kirby Pines from her previous home in Memphis. She was married 44 years to her late husband, Don. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren. They both attended the University of Memphis, Joanie for one year and Don graduated with a BBA in 1962. With three children, Joanie became a homemaker and Don became a CPA. He and Jimmie Fouts were founding partners of Fouts and Morgan, here in Memphis. When Joanie was younger, she enjoyed snow skiing and running and still likes exercising to stay in shape. She also collects Limoges Boxes, a type of small hinged porcelain trinket box produced by Limoges factories near the city of Limoges, France that are collected worldwide made of hard-paste porcelain. She enjoys movies and music, with her favorite artists being Steely Dan, The Eagles, Etta James and R.E.M. She also is a fan of Alabama Football and both U of M Tigers Football and Basketball programs. She is proudest of her family, whose tradition was going to the beach and making homemade ice cream. But her favorite trip was to France. We welcome Joanie, who is said to have a great sense of humor, to her new home at Kirby Pines. So when you see her in the hallways, in the dining room or at a program, be sure to introduce yourself and show her around.
