Gary has been recognized in the field of fire safety by the National Bureau of Code and Fire Safety and Flo received Logistics Certifications. The Winfield's have some interesting stories to tell of their travels to Italy, France, Spain and their Caribbean cruises. Their favorite destination was Rome, Italy. In their spare time, Gary likes watching sports on TV and they like to read. To stay active, they walk and exercise in the Oasis. We’re happy that the Winfield's chose Kirby Pines for the next chapter in their lives. We look forward to seeing them out and about on our beautiful campus. Gary & Flo Winfield Tommie & Bill Greene The Greene's made their move to Kirby Pines from their home in Bartlett, Tennes- see. Bill and Tommie will celebrate their two year wedding anniversary July 14th. They have several children and ten great grandchildren from their previous mar- riages. Bill graduated from Tech High School in Memphis and went on to be a business owner. His business was Lectra Rep, a printing supply company. Tommie went to Central High School and worked in sales at Memphis Funeral Home and Cemetery. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Bill earned the rank of Corporal and served as in aircraft maintenance. For enjoyment, Bill has enjoyed golf and Tommie enjoys playing cards. They like traveling and have made some exciting trips. Bill has traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and several U.S. cities, while Tommie has been to England, France, and Germany. Tommie has traveled and coordinated trips for Diamond Tours. Bill has been a collector of ties and shoes. Tommie will miss having room to display her beautiful Christmas decoration col- lection but she’ll enjoy our Kirby Pines’ decorations when December rolls around. The Greene's “ready to go” and friendly personalities are certainly welcome here at Kirby Pines. Welcome, and we look forward to getting to know you! Shelvy Mayhew Shelvy Mayhew is a new resident at Kir- by Pines, moving here from her previous home in Germantown. She and her late husband, Gail, were married for 48 years before his passing in 2008. Shelvy was born in Gadsden, TN. Shelvy went to Illinois Benedictine Col- lege in Lisle, Illinois where she received a certificate from “The Institute for Man- agement.” She worked for the Sunbeam Corporation from 1955 to 1985. She then worked in customer service and as a warehouse manager from 1985 until she retired in 2004. We’ll probably find Shelvy participating in many of our activities here at Kirby. Her interests include line dancing, read- ing, studying Spanish, all kinds of music, and Tiger basketball. Shelvy has traveled to many of the usual destinations in the United States includ- ing California, New York, Las Vegas, Ha- waii, and the Wisconsin Dells. Her favor- ite trip was to Disney World. Sounds like Shelvy is a young at heart gal! Before Covid-19, Shelvy stayed active walking and line dancing. Now that things are beginning to open back up, find Shelvy and get her involved in some of our life enhancement activities. Welcome Shelvy, we look forward to getting to know you soon!
