The Pinecone | June 2021 • 3 • welcome to 3535 Kirby Road • Memphis, TN 38115 Ves and Pat Tinsley come to Kirby Pines from their previous home in Collierville, Tennessee. They have been married 64 wonderful years, have three children, seven grandchildren and four great grands. Ves earned his degree in math and physics from the University of Texas in 1962. He worked 37 years in computers and software support for the TVA and Uni- sys Corp as a project manager. Pat earned her business degree at the University of Memphis in 1981, where she went on to work 25 years as a benefits counselor in the Human Resources Department at the university. This couple has always enjoyed gardening and helping others through their church and the last 15 years, Pat has assisted people with their Medicare benefits. They are Texas Longhorn fans and have traveled to South Africa, Europe and Israel. They also took many trips with their children to Florida and out west to see our nation's beautiful parks. Pat enjoys reading, her favorite book is The Thorn- birds. Ves, being from Texas likes Lonesome Dove and western movies. When asked how friends would describe them, Pat was unsure, but hopes they find her kind and generous. She knows how friends describe Ves and that is kind, loving and helpful to all. Please welcome the Tinsleys to their new home at Kir- by Pines and make them feel as if they are part of the family. After all, anyone coming to our community is only a stranger for a short time. We are glad you are here. Ves & Pat Ti n s l ey Do r sey & Ga r y Fau l k ne r Mary (Dorsey) Faulkner was born in Athens, Georgia. Gary Faulkner is from Barnyard, North Carolina. They have been married for 58 years, have two daughters and three grandchildren. They move to Kirby Pines from their home in Germantown, Tennessee. Dorsey received her Bachelor Degree in Medical Records from Emory University in 1962. Gary was a Quartermaster in the Navy, whose assignment was a navigator on the USS Bordelon, a destroyer. He received his marketing degree from the University of Georgia in 1963 and became the regional sales manager for Mohawk Carpet Mills. They have traveled all over the world, but their favorite destination was Machu Picchu, Peru. Gary's hobby is to trade stock and his friends would describe him as a "Big True Georgia Dog". They both love Christmas, Elvis and Italian food. They are very proud of their two daughters and love Georgia football. Dorsey's favorite book is the Bible. The Faulkners have just moved in, so please welcome them with big smiles and get to know more about them as they acclimate to their new home at Kirby Pines Retirement Community.
