Garden Gro’ers
Club Meeting
You don’t need a green thumb to be a
member of this busy group. With spring
just around the corner, the Gro’ers are
getting ready to plant for the season.
Plots are still available for any resident
interested in having their individual
garden. Just contact Dr. Charles Parrott
if you are interested at 795-4394. Come
on down to the Greenhouse on Wednes-
day, March 12th at 10:30 am and dig in!

Ham-ateur Club Presents
Act I: Spring Fun”
The Ham-ateur Club will present their
first program of the year on March 14th
at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Join the crowd
and enjoy a fun filled hour of hearty
laughter as the Ham-ateurs present mu-
sic, skits, a stand-up comic routine and
a play in three acts. Don’t miss the fun-
niest show put on to date!

Birthday Night Concert with
Earl Randle
Come on up to the PAC at 6:30 pm to
hear Earl Randle perform. Earl moved
to Memphis to write songs at Willie
Mitchell’s Hi Records. During his 10
years at the studio, he wrote songs for
Al Green, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Seger,
Etta James, and Koko Taylor.

Downton Abbey:
Season 4, Episode 6
June 1922. Alfred gets a place on the
Ritz cooking course when a winner
drops out, and leaves Downton. Gov-
ernment inspectors arrive to check the
estate: Mr. Napier is another old friend
of Mary’s; his companion Mr. Blake is
an acerbic socialist, who clashes with
her - terribly politely, of course. Will be
shown at 2:00 & 6:00 pm in the Movie
Theater.

Bluegrass”
Join us for the musical stylings of
South Country Bluegrass, a group that
specializes in a mixture of all acoustic
Bluegrass and Old Time Gospel. They
will be playing in the PAC at 6:30 pm.

The Company We Keep”
with The Iris Orchestra
Join the Iris Orchestra for an open re-
hearsal of their program “The Compa-
ny We Keep” on Saturday, March 15th.
Under the direction of Michael Stern,
the orchestra will be playing pieces by
Jonathan Leshnoff, Mendelssohn &
Brhms. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.
The bus will be leaving at 9:30 am, sign
up in Transportation.

Smart Moves
Improving Posture”
Join Jason Sparrow as he discusses this
month’s topic of “Improving Posture”.
Good posture is an easy and very im-
portant way to maintain a healthy mind
and body. This can alleviate common
problems such as back or neck pain,
headaches, and fatigue. Smart Moves
meets in the PAC at 9:45 pm, immedi-
ately following Exercise.

Ease
Join Mary Hand as she begins a spring
session of the Walk with Ease class.
Classes will begin March 10th and run
through May 7th, meeting twice a week,
Monday & Wednesday, for 9 weeks in
the Large Card Room at 10:30 am.

Meeting
Come to the Resident’s Association
Meeting at 2:00 pm in the Performing
Arts Center. Senior Program Direc-
tor of RehabCare, Jason Sparrow, and
Kirby Pines’ own Director of Medical,
Annette Marlar, will be giving a pre-
sentation on the Seven Dimensions of
Wellness.

Tchaikovsky 4”
Come with us to the GPAC to enjoy a
segment of the Masterworks Series,
Tchaikovsky 4”. They will perform
Boyer’s Festivities, Mozart’s Oboe
Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony
No. 4. Call the box office for tickets at
537-2525.
Tickets are $45.00, however,
if 20 or more persons sign up they will
be discounted. Sign up in Transporta-
tion, the bus will be leaving at 2:00 pm.

Bereavement
Support Group
Lamar Frizzell will lead the Bereave-
ment Support Group to serve people in
gaining perspective about their losses
and support them in regaining a healthy
quality of life. The group meets the 3rd
Monday of every month at 10:00 am in
the Ante Room.

Travel to the Dixon
Gallery & Gardens
On Tuesday, March 18th, the Kirby
Pines Travelers will be taking a trip
to visit the Dixon Gallery & Gardens
for the American Photography Ex-
hibit. Admission is $3 at the door and
remember your $3 for the bus. Af-
terwards, the group will be going for
lunch at Amerigo Italian Restaurant.
