Kenya Sampler has worked for Kirby since May 2012 as a personal assistant in the Caring In
Place program. She is hard-working, reliable, and dedicated to her residents, and because
of this, she is also one of the most requested personal assistants that the program has. Kenya
makes her residents feel good while providing the care that they need. She is a leader among
her peers and demonstrates enthusiasm, cooperation, and a great attitude. Kenya can often
be found assisting her co-workers and giving encouragement when it’s needed. When asked
why she wants to work here, she said, “I knew when I was hired that I would like this job. I
just didn’t know I would love it.” Congratulations, Kenya – we’re proud of you!

Reminder: The Senior Fit Test
The Senior Fit Test is a Wellness Screening tool provided by RehabCare. The purpose of the
test is to allow the participants to get a baseline measurement of their fitness using six standardized
assessments. Once the test is complete, the information is loaded into the database and a report is
generated to see where the participant scores in relationship to others their age. The tool is used to
see what areas the participant needs to work on in order to improve their scores at the next testing
event. The Senior Fit Tests are offered twice a year and are a great way to assess balance, strength,
endurance, and agility. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other people with similar activity level as
well as ask the therapy team any questions you have about therapy related questions.
