Amedisys Home Health
Fall Prevention”
This month’s topic is “Fall Prevention”.
Kick off fall with tips to avoid a BIG
Fall. As you get older, physical changes
and health conditions — and sometimes
the medications used to treat those con-
ditions — make falls more likely. In
fact, falls are a leading cause of injury
among older adults. Still, fear of fall-
ing doesn’t need to rule your life. Join
R.N. Peggy McDonald as she discusses
prevention strategies in the Large Card
Room at 10:30 a.m. to give us valuable
information on this important topic.

Smart Moves
Understanding Depression”
This month’s topic is “Understanding
Depression”. There’s no sure way to pre-
vent depression. However, taking steps
to control stress, to increase your resil-
ience and to boost low self-esteem may
help. Friendship and social support, es-
pecially in times of crisis, can help you
weather rough spells. In addition, treat-
ment at the earliest sign of a problem can
help prevent depression from worsening.
Long-term maintenance treatment also
may help prevent a relapse of depression
symptoms. Smart Moves will meet in the
Arts & Crafts Room at 9:45 a.m. imme-
diately following Exercise.
