The “bunny trail” at Kirby Pines is
alive with color, thanks to the abundance
of daffodils, irises, and a variety of
flowering trees and bushes that are in
bloom. The weather is neither too cold
nor too hot to get out on this trail and
enjoy a brisk walk around the lake and
park. Usually we refer to this as the
walking path that encircles the lake, but
with Easter upon us at this time of the
year, you just might see Peter Cotton
Tail going down the trail.
Kirby’s walking path not only
encircles the lake, but also winds
through the park area surrounding this
wonderfully stocked lake. On your walk,
you can stop at a number of exercise
points to stretch or simply sit on a bench
and enjoy the natural beauty around
you. You can also venture off the path
just a short distance to the Four Season
Garden and enjoy the individualized
plants, birdhouses, garden statuary,
and fountain. Further up the hill is a
well-equipped greenhouse where you
can spend time admiring a variety of
plants. No matter your preference, the
“
bunny trail” is a great place to walk
and exercise this time of the year.

Along this same theme, do not miss
our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday,
April 19 beginning at 10 a.m. This
annual event is a great way to interact
with your family, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Recommended
for children ages two to ten, the egg
hunt is held by age groups to allow
all children a more level playing field
while they hunt for these Easter Eggs.
Please call the Activities Office and
let them know if you will be bringing
family members to this annual event, or
if you would like to volunteer to help.
Not to be outdone by the Easter
Bunny or Cheryl and her resident
volunteers, Patrick and his culinary
team are planning a wonderful Easter
Brunch, always a highlight of the season.
Be sure to make your reservations with
Perry.

Happy Ea s t e r f r om Ki rby Pi ne s !
This month, we decided to get in the Easter spirit, so we asked residents to Spring
into action and Hop on down to the Lobby wearing their most Egg-Cellent Easter
Bonnets for a chance to be featured on the cover of the April Pinecone magazine. It
was a gorgeous day, so after meeting in the lobby, we jumped in the big golf cart and
rode down to the sitting area by the lake. Selecting the winning hat was extremely
difficult, but our cover winner was none other than Nita Heffernan with her fun and
festive hat, featuring Easter eggs, daffodils and even an Easter bunny! We want to
thank everyone for coming out and showing off their Easter Best. You all looked
fabulous! Our runners up photos can be seen on page 21.
