Although this humorous story is set in England, the characters are taken straight from Kirby Pines! The book has received this year’s “Edgar Award” for the “best first mystery” written by an author. Join us on April 27, 9:30 a.m. in the PAC or on Live TV 10 as we share thoughts about the twists and turns in this not so serious murder mystery. Apr 27: Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt Jesse Stone comes out of involuntary re- tirement after the sheriff who replaced him exploded in their police car. Apr 28: Sleepless in Seattle After his wife Maggie passes away, Sam Baldwin and his 8-year-old son Jonah relocate from Chicago to Seattle to es- cape the grief associated with Maggie’s death. Eighteen months later Sam is still grieving and can’t sleep. Although Jo- nah misses his mother, he wants his fa- ther to get a new wife despite Sam hav- ing not even contemplated dating again. On Christmas Eve, Sam ends up pour- ing his heart out on a national radio talk show about his magical and perfect marriage to Maggie, and how much he still misses her. Among the many wom- en who hear Sam’s story and fall in love with him solely because of it is Annie Reed, a Baltimore-based newspaper writer. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Apr 29: Memphis Symphony Orchestra Join us for an afternoon of beautiful music presented by members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. This special concert will be held outside on the grounds from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Apr 30: Music with Davy Ray Bennett Davy Ray Bennett is a classically trained singer/songwriter, with eclectic tastes. He plays a wide variety of songs from jazz, country, blues, rock, and gospel. He loves audience participation. He may have you swing dancing to “ I Get a Kick Out Of You”, or singing along to “Fly Me To The Moon.” Davy plays all the major holiday brunches at The Peabody Hotel, every Saturday, at Stone Soup Cafe, and Lafayette’s Music Room, to name a few.
