We will have tons of fun includ- ing pictures with the Easter Bunny and the annual hunt. Bring all the grands and great-grands and come join the fun starting at 10:00 am at the Gazebo! Apr 18: Jewelry Repair Have any jewelry in need of repair? Join us in the SCR at 9:00 am. Apr 19: Wild Oats After she receives a mistakenly huge insurance check, a recently widowed re- tiree brings her best friend along on an adventure to the Canary Islands, where they become media favorites and escap- ees from justice. Showing in the Theatre at 1:30 pm. Apr 19: Spring Dance with The JimMahannah Band The Jim Mahannah Band is a 4-piece band with a big band sound that in- cludes saxophone, flute, clarinet, trum- pet, trombone, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Come dance the night away in the PAC starting at 6:30 pm. Apr 20: Caregiver Support Group Are you caring for a loved one? Our sup- port group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the Small Card Room at 10:00 am. We find support as well as comforting suggestions for unique problems. Caregiving is very diffucult. Come be a part of our group. Apr 20: Travelers: Planetarium Join the Travelers’ Group for an excit- ing adventure to the MOSH Planetar- ium with lunch following at a nearby restaurant. At the Planetarium viewing we’ll gain insight into how technology launched us into space, to Mars and be- yond. We will meet in the lobby at 10:00 am. Be sure to sign up in the Resident Programs office by Monday April 18th at noon. You will need your ticket mon- ey ($22 senior rate) and transportation fee to sign up. Apr 20: The Sandlot In the summer of 1962, a new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in many adventures. Showing in the Theatre at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Apr 22: Cornhole Tournament Come celebrate Earth Day by joining us for our first ever cornhole tournament! Whether you have a partner or not, you can sign up in the Activities office if you would like to participate. We hope to see everyone at the Gazebo to join in on the fun at 2:00 pm. Apr 22: Music with The Jeremy Schrader Trio Jeremy Schrader performs jazz/swing, big band, and blues music with his var- ious combos. He is a trumpeter and vocalist originally from Clarksville, TN but has made Memphis his home since 1995. He and his fellow musicians try to bring big band energy to every perfor- mance. Come experience them live in PAC at 6:00 pm. Apr 26: The Book Baggers Madeline Martin, author of “The Last Bookshop in London” will be joining us via zoom to share thoughts regard- ing her latest book. The story takes place during WWII years when times were hard and families were struggling to survive in London. The one bright spot for many became story time at the neighborhood bookshop. While reading this powerfully written book you may be flooded with childhood memories of that weekly trip to the corner book store, the cozy library, or the stop of the bookmobile in your neighborhood. Join us at 9:30 am in the PAC. Bring a friend or new neighbor. All are welcome. Apr 26: Lunch Bunch at Coastal Fish Company Lunch Bunch is back! Join us as we visit another great restaurant, Coastal Fish Company. Visit the Resident Programs office with your transportation fee to sign up. There will also be a menu for your viewing if requested. We will meet in the lobby at 11:00 am and leave at 11:15 am. See you there! Apr 26: The Replacements During a pro football strike, the owners hire substitute players. Showing at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm in the theatre. Apr 27: St. Vincent A young boy whose parents have just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic war veteran who lives next door. Showing in the Theatre at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Apr 28: Orpheum: Mean Girls Cady Heron may have grown up on the African Safari, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. We will meet in the lobby at 6:00 pm and depart at 6:15 pm. Apr 29: The Poetry Group: Love Isn't In the Dictionary Love isn’t in the Dictionary will be pre- sented on April 29 at 6:30 pm in the PAC. The program will advance the idea that love is big, so splended, so beauti- ful, that to understand it requires more than a dictionary definition.
