IMAX:
Into the Deep
This fascinating IMAX documentary,
filmed off the coast of Southern Cali-
fornia, journeys to an enchanting un-
derwater world of swaying kelp forests
and glowing coral. Swim with colorful
garibaldi, play tag with sea lions and
observe the rarely seen behavior of the
creatures of the eternal undersea night.
Will be shown at 10:00 & 2:00 pm in the
Movie Theater.

Shuffleboard in the
Performing Arts Center
Shuffle on up to the PAC and have some
fun playing shuffleboard! Relieve stress
by getting your mind off of things, so-
cialize and engage in some friendly
competition. Shuffleboard will be held
every Wednesday at 10:00 am & Satur-
day at 4:00 pm in the PAC.

Join the Kirby Pines Prayer Group in

Poetry Group
Come to listen; come to read; come to
recite from memory. Share a favorite
verse or two as others share their verse
with you. Everyone is welcome. Check
out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post of-
fice bulletin board where a residential
poet will be featured each month. The
group meets in the Ante Room every
first Monday at 10:00 am.

WWI: The Complete Story
Part 1
A comprehensive look at “The War to
End All Wars,” this documentary covers
everything from the political intrigues
that led nations to war, to life in the
trenches, to the first air battles, all the
way to the sad end. In recognition of
the 100th anniversary of WWI, we will
be showing the series throughout the
month of August. Part One includes
Summer at Sarajevo, Clash of the Gen-
erals, Doomed Dynasties & Atrocity
1914.
Will be shown at 10:00 am & 2:00
pm in the Movie Theater.

Bowling
Come join the fun every Wednesday &
Friday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large
Card Room. No skill required. It is set up
on the TV; all you have to do is check out
the remotes from the Front Desk and re-
turn them whenever your game is over.

the Beverly Brothers
Join us at 6:00 pm in the Lobby to hear
the Beverly Brothers. This harmony
based duo plays the guitar, performing
songs from classic country to rock-n-roll
favorites. They offer harmony extraor-
dinaire and a fun energetic show that
evokes smiles and fond remembrances.

Connie Swett and Emily McAllister,
both retired musicians from the Mem-
phis area, will be performing a medley
of tunes together in a show called “I
Love a Piano: One Piano, Four Hands”
at 1:30 pm in the Lobby.

Tai Chi
Originally developed for self-defense,
tai chi has evolved into a graceful form
of exercise that’s now used for stress
reduction and a variety of other health
conditions. Under the instruction of
Sheila Raye, Tai Chi meets in the Large
Card Room every Monday at 2:00 pm.

Germantown Presbyterian
The Salvation Army Greater Memphis
Women’s Auxiliary cordially invites
you to “Bridge and More” on Tuesday,
August 5th. Games will be played from

am to 2:30 pm at Germantown
Presbyterian Church. Cost is $25.00
per person, which includes lunch, door
