Depar- ture time is 9:15 am. Aug 8: Garden Club Meeting New Bullentin Board will be lowered or possibly relocated, thanks to Mike Ray- der. We are having a great harvest, thanks to rain and sun. The tree trimming gives us more sun. Maybe more trimming next year. We had severe damage during the last storm. Many trellises are in need of repair. This we will do in the fall, so hang on till we remove them. Keep the weeds down & out. The garden fabric has made the weeding easy. Plan to use again next year since money is coming in. We place excess fruit and tomatoes in the Lobby except for 10 to 2 on Wednesday. A spe- cial thanks to Dan Moffett who took over Charles’s place in his absence. The wa- termelon party is on August 8th at 10:30 in the Gazebo. Invite a new resident or friend. Aug 14: Birthday Night with Breeze Cayolle & Bob Sunda Brian “Breeze” Cayolle’s music is soulful, strong and deeply rooted in the R&B, jazz, and rock and roll traditions of his native New Orleans. Bob Sunda who performs regularly with Breeze has performed and recorded all over the world with a wide variety of renowned entertainers. Join them in the PAC at 6:30 pm. Aug 15: Alzheimer’s Support Group If you’re interested in learning about Al- zheimer’s or you are a caregiver or have a loved one this disease. Please give this group a try. We had a great meeting last month. Please come and share with the group, we uplifting and guidance. The meetings will take place the 3rd Wednes- day of each month at 10:00 am in the LCR. Aug 17: Music with D & G Boogie Blues Diana & Gary Kabakoff bring their duo of blues keyboard and harmonica to au- diences across the greater Memphis area, playing at senior centers, community centers, nursing homes, the International Blues Challenge, the Center for Southern Folklore, the Cove, and elsewhere. Aug 20: Travelers: Courthouse Tour with Jimmy Ogle The Judge D’Army Bailey Court- house (formerly Shelby County Court- house) features over 100+ years of Mem- phis and Shelby County history since it opened in 1910. The tour visits a modern court room, an antique court room and the beautiful Shelby County Law Library.
