Basic and Beginning Water Aerobics is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics are held on Tues- days &Thursdays at 8:30 am. Arthritis Sit/ Stand classes are on Tuesdays & Thurs- days at 11:00 am in the PAC. Aug 1: Bible Study with Dave Phillips Join Germantown Church of Christ’s Dave Phillips as he leads a group Bible Study every Thursday at 10:00 am in the Chapel. All denominations invited. Aug 1: Medical Director Dr. Mike Abutineh MD Will be in the Wellness Clinic Tuesdays 9:00 am -12:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00- 4:30 pm. Appointments required. Aug 1: Rockford Files Jim Rockford is an ex-con and private detective. He was falsely convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, but that doesn’t stop him from using his ex-con buddies to help him solve crimes. Nothing comes easy for Rockford, but he works hard and usually gets shot at or beat up at least once per episode. The Rockford Files will be played every Thursday at 1:30 pm. Aug 2: Art with Helen Whether you are already an artist or would like to learn, join teacher Helen Gaines on Fridays at 10:00 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. Aug 2: Music with Emily & Luke Join the very talented grandchildren of Lenora Smith in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Emily plays the violin and Luke the piano and cello. Luke played a piano solo with The Nashville Symphony Orchestra and has one many prestigious awards. Aug 3: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning in the Ante Room at 7:30 am. There is a rotating list of resi- dent speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellow- ship with us each week. Aug 3: Game Play Group Like to play games? Bring your own to share or join in with someone already there! Meets in the LCR every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Aug 5: Focus on Color Coloring books are incredibly simple, portable, easy to pick up and put down, and a colored–in page takes up almost no space. So come to the Arts & Crafts Room the first and third Monday at 10:00 am. Aug 5: First Monday Poetry Group Come to listen; come to read; come to re- cite from memory. Check out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post office bulletin board where a residential poet will be featured. We meet the first Monday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am. Aug 5: Mahjong Join in and play Mahjong every Monday and Friday at 1:00 pm in the SCR. Aug 5: Magnum: Forever In Time Magnum keeps seeing a woman who looks like a Hawaiian princess who died in 1910. Showtime 1:30 pm. Aug 5: Tai Chi Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise. Every Monday in the PAC at 1:45 pm. Aug 5: Bingo Night Join us for a fun-filled evening of BINGO! Entry costs only $1 per card, with an op- portunity to win up to two prizes. Every Monday night at 6:30 pm in the PAC. Aug 6: Travelers: Ornamental Metal Museum The Travel Group will be going to the Met- al Museum of Art in downtown Memphis on August 6th, 9:30 am departure. Ad- mission for adults is $5.00. We will go to lunch after at The Cupboard on Union. Aug 6: BUNKO J oin this fun group of folks every Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the LCR for the great game of BUNKO. Aug 6: Bernie Assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede is one of the most-beloved residents in the small Texas town of Carthage. Sun- day-school teacher, choir member and creator of spectacular funerals, Bernie is a friend to everyone, including Marjorie Nugent, a rich but nasty widow whom no one else likes. When Marjorie is found shot to death and stuffed in a freezer, Bernie is charged with the murder, and concerned Carthage citizens immediately spring to his defense. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Aug 6: Tech Time Bring your phones, tablets, laptop what- ever issue you have they will be glad to help. Cathy will still be coming every 3rd Monday at 10:30 am in the Sunroom and now her daughter Margie will be coming the 1st Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm. Aug 7: Peach World Kirby Pines Farmers Market brought to you by Peach World will be back in the Lobby every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. I know we all can’t wait for those homegrown tomatoes, peaches, peas and other wonderful fresh produce. Aug 7: KP Travelers Meeting You’ll get to hear about some of the won- derful outings that Carol Yount has orga- nized so far for 2019. So if you have any place or thing in mind you are interested in be sure and bring those suggestions with you. They meet the first Wednesday of every month 10:00 am.
