Class is every Wednesday at 10:30 am in the PAC. Aug 7: Spanish Class Join Spanish Class every Wednesday at 1:30 pm in the Ante Room. Bridget is now dedication half of the class to new stu- dents and the second half to refresh and teach advanced folks. Aug 7: 9 To 5 Office satire about three female secretar- ies who decide to get revenge on their tyrannical, sexist boss by abducting him and running the business themselves. The trio, one of whom has been passed over for promotion because she is a woman, spend a night together having drug-in- duced fantasies of killing the slave-driving chauvinist. One of them panics the fol- lowing day when she suspects she really has poisoned the tyrant. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Aug 7: Virtual Wii Bowling Come join the fun every Wednesday af- ternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large Card Room. No skill required. It is set up on the TV; all you have to do is check out the remotes from the Front Desk and return them whenever your game is over. Aug 7: Ballroom Dancing Join the gang for ballroom dancing les- sons with Ken Black. Lessons will take place every Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the PAC. Aug 9: Watermelon Seed Spit- ting Contest What is more refreshing than Ice cold Watermelon on a hot day? Come and join in this annual event at 10:00 am just out- side the C/D Hall door. Compete for the seed spitting championship of 2019. Men and Women’s categories. Aug 9: Musicwith The Beverly Brothers The Beverly Brothers perform harmony based songs ranging from classic coun- try to classic rock and roll favorites. This 2 guitar duo always delivers a spirited, high energy show that invites and incites audience participation. Join them in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Aug 10 & 24: Through the Bible Through the Bible is a study of the Bible led by Gail Kommer and Barbara Hyland, meeting the 2nd and 4th Saturday of ev- ery month at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room. Bring a Bible and notebook. Join this group of ladies who enjoy learning about God’s Word. All are welcome. Aug 12: Magnum: The Love That Lies Magnum is hired by a woman to find the child she gave up 30 years ago. Showtime 1:30 pm. Aug 12: Lewis Center Dance Hop on the bus and head down to the monthly dance at the Lewis Center. Dance starts at 7:00 pm. Admission is $5.00 and refreshments are served. Sign up in trans- portation. We will leave Kirby at 6:15 pm. Aug 13: Birthday Night with Judy Gray Judi is an eclectic vocalist who loves to sing music from classical to jazz to coun- try. She has been in Memphis since 1982 and has performed in a number of differ- ent genres, including opera and musical theatre. Most recently Judi sings jazz in upscale local restaurants. Judi enjoys us- ing her gift of music to touch people’s lives and evoke memories through song. Come enjoy at 6:30 pm in The PAC. Aug 14: Garden Club Meeting Tomato care—pick your tomato when pink. Red ripe tomato attracts squirrels and birds. Ripen tomatoes in your house. Jalapeno peppers are in. Bell peppers and Okra will be later. Get after the Nut grass. The rain make the soil perfect for remov- ing stem and and nut. Tools are hanging on the shed wall for you to weed your beds. Watermelon Party Aug 14th at 10:30 am in the gazebo. Aug 14: Australia With the globe on the brink of World War II, Lady Sarah Ashley travels from Britain to Australia to inspect a cattle ranch she inherited. Reluctantly joining forces with a rugged local known as the Drover, she sets out on a cattle drive across hundreds of miles of harsh terrain to save her ranch. Aug 20: August Dance with The Jim Mahannah Band Join Jim and his band for a night of sum- mer fun with music, dancing and fellow- ship. The music starts at 6:30 pm.
