His performance ranges from Jerry Lee Lewis-style on the piano to old-fashioned country, gospel and rock- and-roll. Steve also enjoys sing-along and is an expert at inspiring audience participation. Steve is happy to take re- quests. His favorites are up tempo, toe tapping tunes, such as Floyd Kramer classics and old time gospel. Tune on Live TV or come to the PAC at 6:00 pm. Aug 8: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning in the Large Card Room at 8:00 am. There is a rotating list of resident speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellowship with us each week. LarryMcK- enzie is Program Leader. All men are wel- come and encouraged to attend. Aug 8 & 22: Saturday Triva The Kirby Pines Trivia Group meets at 6:15 pm in The Chapel on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. All residents are welcome to attend this noncompetitive activity, and are en- couraged to participate, or just listen and enjoy. Usually, but not always, there will be a THEME for each of the meet- ings. Trivia questions can be presented on any topic. Aug 10: Creative Writing Class Memphis author Susan Cushman will be leading a creative writing workshop on the second Monday of each month. She is the author of three books--a memoir, a novel, and a short story collection. She is also editor of three anthologies of es- says by other authors. This is for anyone with any interest in creative writing, at any level of experience, including be- ginners. Aug 11: Birthday Night with Breeze Cayolle Brian “Breeze” Cayolle’s music is soul- ful, strong and deeply rooted in the R&B, jazz, and rock and roll traditions of his native New Orleans. Breeze’s re- cording credits include numerous al- bums with many different jazz, blues, Cajun, and gospel recording artists in- cluding Gatemouth Brown and the late great bluesman Junior Wells. Our support group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am. We will have soil soon for transplanting and changing pots. Toma- to plants are very heavy now. Ties and trimming important. Be kind to our garden cats, squirrels and birds avoid them. Aug 18: Traveler's Presentation Sheryl & Mark Maxwell will share a video about the Durango and Silver- ton Narrow Gauge Railroad including its history through the years.
