Just the same we will celebrate all that is Kirby Pines, and we can kick the celebration off with our most recent city- wide recognition. In July, the Memphis Business Journal named Kirby Pines the number one Memphis Area Multi-Level Care Community. Kirby Pines is currently in the running to be voted by the readers of the Commercial Appeal for the Memphis Most Award - a recognition that Kirby Pines has won for thirteen consecutive years. Our success is due to residents that know that Kirby Pines is the place to relax and enjoy their retirement years. It’s due to the families of residents who share their beliefs that their love ones have chosen the right place to live while offering them peace of mind. And it’s due to our employees, who amidst this pandemic, have still chosen to work and Enjoying Our Success a t K i r b y P i n e s Michael Escamilla, Executive Director, Kirby Pines Continuing to Stay Safe at Kirby Pines Kirby Pines Retirement LifeCare is managed by: BOARD OF D I R ECTOR S Dr. James Latimer, Chairman Mr. Rudy Herzke, President Mr. Berry Terry, Secretary/Treasurer Mr. Larry Braughton Rev. We have friends to keep us company, food to nourish us, employees who care for our well- being and a roof over our heads to keep us safe. Even though we are going about things differently, Kirby Pines still has so much to offer to keep our minds and bodies busy. There are fitness classes, movies, religious services, music, games and more! This month we have a few additional "special events" not to be missed. August 1st kicks off a weekly presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls. August 5th and 18th, the Travelers will take you to new places. The 20th, Mr. Softee Ice Cream truck will make it's rounds. And August 28th, the Entertainers put on a show. Best part is, most things are being offered on our Live TV Channel 10 to enjoy in the comfort of your own apartment or Garden Home. Speaking of Garden Homes, our front cover takes a peek in the superbly decorated home of Pat Brand. It is as beautiful as she is and adorned with amazing antiques she and her husband Charles have collected over the years. If you, or someone you know, may be interested serve residents and co-workers daily. Regardless of how long you have been a resident, or have been contemplating a move to Kirby Pines, our upcoming thirty-seventh anniversary is possible because of the trust you and so many in the Memphis community have in us. On behalf of all employees, thank you for your cooperative spirits throughout the years, and may I suggest you take some time to relax away from the hot August sun. in one of our five newly renovated homes, please call 901-369-7340. Our back cover shows how even wearing a mask for safety, can also be fun AND fashionable! We never thought we'd get such a turnout, but then again, we are never surprised when our residents show up in force for a good time. Pat Brand Loves Her New Garden Home
