Carol White moved to Kirby
Pines from her previous home in Fox
Meadows, here in Memphis, Tennessee.
She has three children and six
grandchildren. She was married for 54
years and was primarily a homemaker.
However, she also worked outside her
home for 10 years at the Cole Publishing
Company as an Office Manager.
Classical music is her favorite; and
France is the one country she would
like to visit, given that country’s rich
history. The most valuable lesson she
learned from her parents was trust in
God. Becoming a mother was her most
meaningful life event.
Carol continues to familiarize
herself with all that Kirby Pines offers
and enjoys the friendliness of long time
residents. We welcome Carol to our
community and wish her all the best.

Anna Stewart
Anna Stewart has lived in Memphis
for 44 years, coming to Kirby Pines from
her previous residence on Chapman
Avenue. She and her husband, Ralph,
celebrated 57+ years before his passing.
During WWII, Ralph Stewart was an
MP, serving as General Eisenhower’s
inside security guard for nearly 4 years.
They have 2 children, 2 grandchildren,
and 3 great grandchildren. In 1945,
Anna pursued a business course at Miller
Hawkins Business College, and worked
for several years at E.H. Crump &
Company as an Insurance Writer.
The most valuable gift from her
parents was being brought up in a
Christian home. Anna has put her faith
into action by teaching Sunday school
for 69 years. Among her memories that
make her smile is a Mediterranean Cruise
that included several days in Israel; a
cruise from the Pacific Ocean through
the Panama Canal to the Atlantic Ocean;
and accidentally going into the men’s
restroom in England.
As a high school teenager, she played
basketball at Bells, TN and believes her
team must have been good because they
never lost a game and were in the finals.
At this phase of her life, Anna says
that she’s satisfied to stay home, because
she has been blessed by the places visited.
A sunny ALL IS WELL !!! is included
in her bio and her positive outlook is a
welcomed attribute here at Kirby Pines.
