Travel by mini-bus on relatively un- developed roads across the Mongolian Steppe or by air from Ulaanbaatar, the capital and largest city in Mongolia, to the Hoyor Zagal and Munkh Tenger Ger Camps in the Khogno Khaan Mountains, to the Ashihai Ger Camp at Khovsgol Lake, and to the Dream Gobi Desert Ger Camp in the Gobi Desert. Dec 8: The Man Who Invented Christmas The journey that led to Charles Dickens' creation of "A Christmas Carol," a time- less tale that would redefine Christmas. Dec 8 : Birthday Night with Just Friends Be sure and join Just Friends Band on Birthday Night to hear some Jazz, Vin- tage Standards, & Rock – N – Roll at 6:30 in PAC or on Live TV Channel 10. Dec 9: Garden Club Meeting Garden greens are ready, so pick now. We will be clearing beds for new con- struction this winter. Beds are full of foreign grass and hope to till it into our soil this spring. We will be planting seed March 3rd. Come on down to the Greenhouse every 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am rain or shine and dig in! Dec 9: Elf After discovering he is a human, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole decides to travel to New York City to locate his real father. Showtimes 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm in the Theater. Dec 9 : Laugh with the Ham-ateurs Come join the Ham-ateuers who feel it is time to let loose and laugh! Enjoy this performace full of humor and music at 6:30 pm in the PAC or on Live TV Channel 10. Dec 11: Music with The Jeremy Schrader Trio Jeremy Shrader performs jazz/swing, big band, and blues music with his var- ious combos. He is a trumpeter and vocalist originally from Clarksville, TN but has made Memphis his home since 1995. The songs of Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and other great masters live on through his voice and trumpet. Join them in the PAC at 6:00 pm and Live TV Channel 10. Dec 12 & 26: Saturday Triva The Kirby Pines Trivia Group meets at 6:15 pm in The Chapel on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. All residents are welcome to attend this noncompetitive activity, and are en- couraged to participate, or just listen and enjoy. Usually, but not always, there will be a THEME for each of the meet- ings. Trivia questions can be presented on any topic. Dec 14: Creative Writing Class Memphis author Susan Cushman will be leading a creative writing workshop on the second Monday of each month. Dec 15: The Book Baggers The annual Christmas party for The Book Baggers will be held in the PAC, 9:30 - 10:30 am, with refreshments and a fun discussion of John Grisham’s book, “Skipping Christmas.” This should be a very timely book to read and discuss since Covid-19 has been a part of our lives for many month causing us to skip celebrations of all kinds. Dec 15: Christmas at Rosemont During a raging blizzard days before Christmas, a pregnant woman and a professional snowboarder meet by chance as they attempt to make it over the mountains ahead of them. They are forced to seek shelter at a once vibrant lodge owned by the bitter owner Jose- phine, whose only companion is the lodge's sole remaining employee, care- taker Abe. Showtimes 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm in the Theater. Dec 16: Alzheimer’s Support Group Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimers or dementia? Our support group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am. Dec 16: The Christmas Card US soldier visits the town fromwhere an inspirational Christmas card was sent to him by a church group that mails cards out to servicemen as a goodwill effort.
