Donna graduated Cum Laude from Memphis State University in 1970, while working full-time for J. Strickland & Co., where she has been an executive secretary and administrative assistant for 61 years and going. Donna enjoys reading, walking and volunteer work. Doug likes crossword puzzles, and solitaire. They both enjoy square and round dancing, so we hope they take advantage of dance opportunities at Kirby Pines. Christine collects little cups and saucers and shells, while Doug collects records. Donna has a "sweet" smile and is honest, while Doug is the quiet one of the two. They both enjoy watching golf and Tiger football and basketball. We are so glad the Paines decided to make Kirby Pines their home and we would like to extend a warm welcome to them both! Donna & Doug Paine Jim Gordon Jim Gordon comes to Kirby Pines as a lifelong Memphian. He and his late wife, Marilyn were married 50 years, have two daughters and four grandchildren. Jim was an Airman 2nd Class in the Air Force Reserve and was a smoke jumper from 1958-59. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1959 with a Bachelors Degree. He worked in sales at IBM for 25 years, and then the FedEx St. Jude Classic for 11 years. In 1995 he opened and operated Jim Gordon Jewelers on Poplar Avenue. Jim has traveled through much of the United States and also Australia, New Zealand, France and England. He is still a practicing jeweler and plays golf to stay active. He also collects Herend porcelain animal figurines. You can recognize them because of their famous fishnet pattern. Jim is a Vanderbilt Commodore fan and his favorite family recipe is for Chocolate Chip Cookies. His friends would describe him as casual, agreeable and humorous, and once you meet him, I'm sure you will find this to be true. He has a big smile and a bold laugh, so if you see him in the dining room, the hallways or at a program, be sure to reach out and say hello, you'll be glad you did. Welcome to Kirby Pines, Jim!
