They are always looking for new members so if you enjoy singing go and check them out. July 7: BUNKO Join this fun group of folks every Tues- day at 1:30 pm in the LCR for the great game of BUNKO. July 7: Instant Family Adopting three foster children at once thinking that it’s a perfect way to start a family, Pete and Ellie fail to consider that their new charges may be hellions -- which they are. Please call 682-1529 for more informa- tion or to schedule a visit. July 8: Garden Club Meeting If you are planting lettuce in your trel- lis, do not puncture the fabric. Plant along your tomatoes, the heat will kill it this summer. Tie your tomatoes to ¼ inch. Work on your weeds, nut grass is on the way. Tickle your tomatoes, this promotes pollen to loosen and gives you a higher yield. Kirby will water and fer- tilize your plants. Do not walk or stand in the beds, you could fall or plant weed seeds. Come on down to the Green- house every 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am rain or shine and dig in! July 8: Hope Floats Young mother Birdee Pruitt returns to her Texas hometown after learning (on national television) that her husband has been unfaithful. Humiliated, Birdee tries to build a new life for herself and her daughter as Birdee’s mother plays matchmaker. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. July 10: Music with Mike and Jeanette Dougherty Mike Dougherty, also known as DJ Mi- chaels, is a seasoned tribute artist of the Golden Age of Rock & Roll. His lovely wife, Jeanette, brings the show to life by dancing and interacting with audience members. Mike & Jeanette’s shows are filled with music from the artists you grew up loving. Be ready to dance, laugh and have an all- around good time. Join them at 6:00 pm in the PAC or LiveTV. July 11 & 25: Saturday Triva The Kirby Pines Trivia Group meets at 6:15 pm in the Chapel on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. All residents are welcome and encour- aged to attend, participate, or just listen and enjoy. There will not be a THEME for either the July 11 or for the July 25 meetings. Trivia questions on any topic can be presented - anything goes. July 13: Creative Writing Class Memphis author Susan Cushman will be leading a creative writing workshop on the second Monday of each month. She is the author of three books--a memoir, a novel, and a short story collection. She is also editor of three anthologies of es- says by other authors. This is for anyone with any interest in creative writing, at any level of experience, including be- ginners. July 15: Alzheimer’s Support Group Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimers or dementia? Our support group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am.
