We welcome Chuck and Paula to our community, with their many talents and assets, they will soon be involved in our Life Enhancement programs. We are so happy they chose Kirby Pines for their new life adventure. Chuck & Pau l a Han son J ohn & Me l ody Ch i p l ey Just as Kirby Pines shut things down due to the pandemic, we welcomed John and Melody Chipley with their dog, George. They are enjoying their new home but are looking forward to our returning to the normal life here at Kirby Pines. The Chipleys moved here from their previous home in Germantown where they celebrated their Golden Anniversary in February. They have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. John went to the University of North Carolina and Union University where he studied business and education. He worked in the business world and also was a teacher before retiring. Melody went to the University of Hartford and Kings College, after school she worked as a secretary and as an administrative assistant at several law firms. For enjoyment, John enjoys the piano and writing. Melody stays busy quilting, knitting, reading and watercolor painting. Collecting cars is a hobby of Johns and Melody collects antique teacups and cream pitchers. John says his friends describe him as a “little outside the box.” We might want to meet John just to find out the meaning of this description. Melody likes to walk and does chair exercising. She also gets a lot of exercise walking their pet, George. Becoming a teacher is John’s proudest accomplishment and Melody does not sell her quilts but they are a gift of love to her friends and family. You’ll want to make friends with our new neighbors whenever you’re out and about. Introduce them to the many different enhancement activities we have here at Kirby Pines. They are a fit for our community and we are very happy to welcome them to their new home.
