The Pinecone | March 2019 • 3 • welcome to 3535 Kirby Road • Memphis, TN 38115 All new resident bios are written by Peggy Reynolds Gatlin, Kirby Pines Resident You’re in for a real treat when you meet our new residents, the Ginns. Lifetime Tennesseans, John is from Knoxville and Jo Ann grew up in Fisherville. They met at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. They have been married for 57 years and have four children, seven grandchildren and three (plus another due in March) great-grands. They previously lived in Lakeland before making their move to Kirby Pines. After college, John went to work at General Foods which later became Kraft Foods. He retired after 33 years and was District Service Sales Manager. Jo Ann worked part time while raising their four children. You may see John and Jo Ann driving around in their 1962 Chevy Impala. This car is the result of John’s hobby, auto restoration. Jo Ann’s hobby is making greeting cards and she also teaches a Bible study class at their church. The Ginns have been busy travelers of the United States and the world. They have made several mission trips to China and Turkey and visited other European countries. Their favorite trip was their anniversary cruise to the Baltic Sea countries. John and JoAnn enjoy following the Tennessee Vols and the Memphis Tigers. Agood reason for the Ginns to watch Tiger basketball, they have a grandson who is a team manager. If you watch closely, you’ll catch a glimpse of him during games. If you haven’t already met these new residents, hopefully, you will soon. Give them that special warm Kirby welcome and remind them of the many life enhancement opportunities we have going on here at their new home.
