Mar 9: Travelers Present Peter and Dale Jones will give a Power Point presentation on their travels in Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Ter- ritories: The Road Less Traveled. Visit Petra in Jordan and traverse Israel from Caesarea to the Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee. Explore Jerusalem, Herodion, the Qumran Caves, and Ma- sada. Enter the Palestinian Territories and visit Bethlehem, Bethany, and He- bron. Mar 9: Free Willy When maladjusted orphan Jesse van- dalizes a theme park, he is placed with foster parents and must work at the park to make amends. There he meets Willy, a young Orca whale who has been sep- arated from his family. Sensing kinship, they form a bond and, with the help of kindly whale trainer Rae Lindley, devel- op a routine of tricks. However, greedy park owner Dial soon catches wind of the duo and makes plans to profit from them. Showtime 1:30 pm in the Theater. Mar 9: Birthday Night with Breeze Cayolle Brian “Breeze” Cayolle’s music is soul- ful, strong and deeply rooted in the R&B, jazz, and rock and roll traditions of his native New Orleans. Breeze’s re- cording credits include numerous al- bums with many different jazz, blues, Cajun, and gospel recording artists in- cluding Gatemouth Brown and the late great bluesman Junior Wells. Don’t miss this great musician at 6:00 pm in PAC and on Live TV 10. Mar 10: Garden Club Meeting Spring is just around the corner. We will plant seeds in the greenhouse on March 3rd. Mar 10: Night Passge Former railroad worker Grant Mc- Laine is hired by boss Ben Kimball to help transport the railroad's payroll. The train carrying the payroll has been robbed multiple times in the past, and Kimball hopes that McLaine can suc- cessfully guard the money from the robbers. But matters are complicated for McLaine when he finds out that one of the robbers is his brother, who is now going by the name of the Utica Kid. Showtimes 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm in the Theater. Mar 12 : Music with Stephen White Stephen is a professional opera sing- er who has performed with the New York Grand Opera, the Bronx Opera, the European Opera Ascona, and Op- era Memphis in great works including La Boheme, La Traviata, and Il Barber di Siviglia. He is equally trained on the musical stage, and has appeared in dra- mas and musicals, including appearanc- es in The Sound of Music and As You Like it. Be sure and view in at 6:00 pm in the PAC or Live TV 10. Mar 13 & 27: Saturday Trivia The Kirby Pines Trivia Group meets at 6:15 pm in The Chapel on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. All residents are welcome to attend this noncompetitive activity, and are en- couraged to participate, or just listen and enjoy. Usually, but not always, there will be a theme for each of the meetings. Trivia questions can be presented on any topic. Mar 16: Death In Paradise Jesse Stone has settled into life as the police chief of the small New England town of Paradise, Massachusetts when the body of a teenage girl is found float- ing in a local lake. Stone discovers that the once straight-A student had started down a path of self-destruction and was estranged from her parents who never reported her missing. Our support group meets the 3rd Wednesday of ev- ery month in the Small Card Room at 10:00 We find support as well as com- forting suggestions for unique prob- lems. Caregiving can be very difficult. Come be a part of our group. Mar 17: Slumdog Millionaire As 18-year-old Jamal Malik answers questions on the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," flashbacks show how he got there. Part of a stable of young thieves after their mother dies, Jamal and his brother, Salim, survive on the streets of Mumbai. Salim finds the life of crime agreeable, but Jamal scrapes by with small jobs until landing a spot on the game show.Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm.
