Basic and Beginning Water Aerobics is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics are held on Tues- days &Thursdays at 8:30 am. Arthritis Sit/ Stand classes are on Tuesdays & Thurs- days at 11:00 am in the PAC. May 1: KP Travelers Meeting You’ll get to hear about some of the won- derful outings that Carol Yount has orga- nized so far for 2019. So if you have any place or thing in mind you are interested in be sure and bring those suggestions with you. They meet the first Wednesday of every month 10:00 am. May 1: Mahjong with Jody Join Jody on Wednesdays at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room to learn the ancient Chinese game of Mahjong. May 1: Yoga Stretch This is not advanced so don’t worry about getting on the floor and not being able to get up. You will be sitting in a chair or standing. Class is every Wednesday at 10:30 am in the PAC. May 1: Theatre Memphis: Joyce Cobb & The Boscos On Wednesday, May 1, Creative Aging’s Senior Arts Series continues at Theatre Memphis. This 1:30 pm performance features Grammy Award-winning artist Joyce Cobb and the Boscos’ Trio accom- panied by the witticisms of Mark Twain, portrayed to perfection by accomplished actor Ron Jewell. The program is followed by a complimentary reception. This will be a well-attended event so we need to make reservations early. Please sign up in Transportation. Tickets are $5.00. May 1: Robin Hood A war-hardened Crusader and his Moor- ish commander mount an audacious re- volt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless ro- mance. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. May 1: Spanish Class Join Spanish Class every Wednesday at 1:30 pm in the Ante Room. Bridget is now dedication half of the class to new stu- dents and the second half to refresh and teach advanced folks. May 1: Game Play Group Like to play games? Bring your own to share or join in with someone already there! Meets in the LCR every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm. May 1: Virtual Wii Bowling Come join the fun every Wednesday af- ternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large Card Room. No skill required. It is set up on the TV; all you have to do is check out the remotes from the Front Desk and return them whenever your game is over. May 1: Ballroom Dancing Join the gang for ballroom dancing les- sons with Ken Black. Lessons will take place every Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the PAC. May 2: National Day of Prayer Join us for this special prayer service that will be led by Don Johnson in the morn- ing and Dr. Buck Morton in the evening on this National Day of Prayer, 11:00 am in the Chapel and 6:30 pm in the PAC. May 2: Medical Director Dr. Mike Abutineh MD Will be in the Wellness Clinic Tuesdays 9:00 am -12:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00- 4:30 pm. Appointments required. May 2: Streets of Laredo Captain Woodrow Call, now retired from the Rangers, is a bounty hunter. He is hired by an eastern rail baron to track down Joey Garza, a new kind of killer, only a boy, who kills from a distance with a rifle. Joined by his old compadre Pea Eye, it is a long ride to south Texas and the Mexican side of the border, where the past, in the form of Maria Garza, Joey’s mother, haunts Call. This series will be shown on Thursday, May 2nd, May 16th and 23rd at 1:30 pm. May 3: Art with Helen Whether you are already an artist or would like to learn, join teacher Helen Gaines on Fridays at 10:00 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. May 3: Music with Heart Memphis Duo Heart Memphis Duo includes Adam Levine on keyboards and vocals and Steve Corbett on guitar, playing memory-pro- voking songs that brighten your day. Their performances are fun and energetic, and always include audience participation. Join them in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. May 4: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning in the Ante Room at 7:30 am. There is a rotating list of resi- dent speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellow- ship with us each week. May 4: MSO: Star Wars Join MSO and Star Wars Re-enactors on May the 4th, the date now embraced by LucasFilm as the annual “holiday” for all things Star Wars! May 6: Focus on Color Coloring books are incredibly simple, portable, easy to pick up and put down, and a colored–in page takes up almost no space. So come to the Arts & Crafts Room the first and third Monday at 10:00 am. May 6: First Monday Poetry Group Come to listen; come to read; come to re- cite from memory. Check out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post office bulletin board where a residential poet will be featured. We meet the first Monday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am.
