Nov 7: Ballroom Dancing Class Come to our first BallroomDancing Class with teacher Kenneth Black. You can be a beginner or someone who is experienced. All are welcome. Nov 8: Olive Branch Jr. High Band: Salute To Veterans Don’t miss this wonderful concert with Patriotic songs to honor our Veterans. Join us in the PAC at 10:00 am. Nov 8: Resident Association Meeting Join us Thursday November 8th, 2:00 pm in the PAC. Representatives from our lo- cal police station will be here to give us tips on our personnel safety and answer questions about what is going on in our surrounding area. There will also be someone from our neighborhood watch. Nov 9: Veteran’s Day Program Join us Friday, November 9th, in the PAC for this program of dedication to the Unit- ed States Military men and women who protected the symbol of freedom and our national Flag at all cost during the course of our history. Presented by the Knights of Columbus, Holy Cross Assembly 3048. Program time 10:30 am. Nov 9: Music with Pianist Russ Wheeler Russ grew up in Kansas City and started playing a Hammond B3 organ when he was five years old. He was raised on play- ing swing jazz music from the 40s and 50s the Glenn Miller era and went on to study music in college becoming a pro- fessional musician traveling around the world. Don’t miss this fabulous pianist. Be sure and check him out at 6:00 pm in the Lobby. Nov 10: Piano Student Recital Join the students of D Piano Studio in the PAC from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm as they present their piano recitals. Nov 10 & 24: Through the Bible Through the Bible is a study of the Bible led by Gail Kommer and Barbara Hyland, meeting the 2nd and 4th Saturday of ev- ery month at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room. Bring a Bible and notebook. Join this group of ladies who enjoy learning about God’s Word. All are welcome. Nov 10 & 24: Trivia Night Come play trivia if you like to play just for fun, non-competitive. Meet the gang in the Lobby every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 6:15 pm. Nov 11: USMA West Point Glee Club: Salute to Veterans Don’t miss this wonderful Patriotic Pro- gram presented by the USMA West Point Glee Club. Admission is free. The pro- gram is at White Station High School Auditorium. Sign up in Transportation. We will leave at 2:15 pm. Tickets will be passed out on the bus. This is guaranteed to be a fantastic program. Nov 13: Birthday Night with Memphis Wind Symphony The Memphis Wind Symphony and its sixty-five members will be here to present another one of their fabulous concerts. Tuesday night at 6:30 pm in the PAC. Our own resident Dr Tom Hickey is one of the members. Don’t miss this show! Nov 14: Travelers Outing: Davies Plantation Tour 2 story log house; oldest log home in Shel- by County on 32 acres of plantation w/ numerous out buildings. Pioneer Fibers Presentation–Learn about cotton, spin- ning, weaving, quilt making. Informal “Tea” (lite buffet w/several varieties of hot tea; baked goods & fruit). Cost: $12 in advance to Carol Yount, no later than Monday Nov 12. Sign up in transporta- tion. Departure is 9:15am. Caution: this is an OLD house w/ small areas. We will need to climb stairs – or wait downstairs. Outdoors ground is uneven – watch your footing!!!! Nov 14: Garden Club Meeting Cold weather is coming. Our winter to- matoes are growing, Roma is the best. In the garden only peppers remain. Turnip and mustard greens are ready for thin- ning. Remember to sign up for plot in Jan- uary. Tomatoes only means a trellis. Large plot may have a trellis or cage if request- ed. Please note: Community plots are for residents who can tend them.
