Nov 1: Mahjong Join in and play Mahjong every Monday and Friday at 1:00 pm in the SCR. Nov 1: Music with The Double D Band The Double D Band plays a wide range of songs and genres, but especially music from the 50s. Playing guitars and man- dolins, they’ve appeared on MTV, BBC, and have been a part of the music scene in London, England and New York City, having lived and performed in both. Join them in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Nov 1: Germantown Symphony Orchestra Three Young Artist winners from the 19th Annual GSO Concerto Competition per- form with the orchestra: Liu in Mozart’s Flute Concerto in Dmajor, 1st Movement; Huang in Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, 3rd Movement & McLean on violin in Symphonie Espagnole, 1st Move- ment. Plus orchestra-only pieces. Seniors: $15 Call box office for tickets @ 751-7500. Departure is 7:15 pm. Nov 2: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning in the Ante Room at 7:30 am. There is a rotating list of resi- dent speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellow- ship with us each week. Nov 4: Get Fit with Oasis Coordinator Mary Hand Advanced Water Aerobics classes will be held on Mondays & Wednesdays at 8:30 am. Basic and Beginning Water Aerobics is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics are held on Tues- days &Thursdays at 8:30 am. Arthritis Sit/ Stand classes are on Tuesdays & Thurs- days at 11:00 am in the PAC. Nov 4: Focus on Color Coloring books are incredibly simple, portable, easy to pick up and put down, and a colored–in page takes up almost no space. So come to the Arts & Crafts Room the first and third Monday at 10:00 am. Nov 4: First Monday Poetry Group Come to listen; come to read; come to re- cite from memory. Check out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post office bulletin board where a residential poet will be featured. We meet the first and third Monday of ev- ery month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am. Nov 4: The Snoop Sisters Forming a one-of-a kind “Whodunit” writing team, eccentric elderly sisters Er- nesta and Gwendolyn Snoop’s insatiable curiosity all too often leads them to be deeply embroiled in real-life murders. This will be played through Second week of November. Showtime 1:30 pm. Nov 4: Tai Chi Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise. Every Monday in the PAC at 1:45 pm. Nov 4: Bingo Night Join us for a fun-filled evening of BINGO! Entry costs only $1 per card, with an op- portunity to win up to two prizes. Every Monday night at 6:30 pm in the PAC. Nov 4: Game Play Group Like to play games? Bring your own to share or join in with someone already there! Meets in the LCR every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Nov 5: Travelers: Lichterman Nature Center Lichterman Nature Center is a certified arboretum and nature center located at Ridgeway & Quince. All walkways are paved, walk takes abt 1-1/2 hours & cost $7/residents. After learning about the habitat, we will see the entries in annual scare crow contest. We will return to Kir- by in time for lunch. Sign up in Transpor- tation. Depart 9:30 am. Nov 5: Ridgeway High School Band Join the students from Ridgeway ask the present us with a special musical program at 10:30 am in the Lobby. Nov 5: Medical Director Dr. Mike Abutineh MD Will be in the Wellness Clinic Tuesdays 9:00 am -12:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00- 4:30 pm. Appointments required. Nov 5: BUNKO J oin this fun group of folks every Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the LCR for the great game of BUNKO. Nov 5: Tech Time Bring your phones, tablets, laptop what- ever issue you have they will be glad to help. Cathy will still be coming every 3rd Monday at 10:30 am in the Sunroom and now her daughter Margie will be coming the 1st Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm. Nov 5: Flyboys The adventures of the Lafayette Escadrille, young Americans who volunteered for the French military before the U.S. entered World War I, and became the country’s first fighter pilots. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Nov 6: Travelers Meeting Be sure and come to the Travler’s meeting. You’ll get to hear about some of the won- derful outings that Carol Yount has orga- nized so far for 2019. So if you have any place or thing in mind you are interested in be sure and bring those suggestions with you. They meet the first Wendesday of every month 10:00 am. Nov 6: Yoga Stretch This is not advanced so don’t worry about getting on the floor and not being able to get up. You will be sitting in a chair or standing. Class is every Wednesday at 10:30 am in the PAC. Nov 6: Spanish Class Join Spanish Class every Wednesday at 1:30 pm in the Ante Room. Bridget is now dedication half of the class to new students and the second half to refresh and teach advanced folks. Nov 6: Pearl Harbor A tale of war and romance mixed in with history. The story follows two lifelong friends and a beautiful nurse who are caught up in the horror of an infamous Sunday morning in 1941. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm.
