There is a rotating list of resi- dent speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellow- ship with us each week. Oct 8: Magnum PI: Round and Around TC and Magnum seek the men who killed TC’s close friend during a convenience- store robbery, before vigilantism results in tragedy. Showtime 1:30 pm in the Theater. Oct 9: Birthday Night with Basil Alter Basil Alter, is a teenage virtuoso that ex- cels at playing a jazz violin in the land of blues bluegrass, jazz and classical. Basil is a 17-year-old violinist and University of Memphis student that has several years of playing violin at recitals, weddings and other events around Memphis. He is also the nephew of our very own, Clara Mae Francis. Join us at 6:30 pm in the PAC. Oct 10: Garden Club Meeting Our spring garden is disappearing as fall approaches. The greens are now planted. Turnip, mustard, kale and collard. Trellis and stakes are being removed as plants die. Stored against stone wall. We are still considering more trellises to replace stakes. This will be a winter project. Work will be done in warm green house. We have enough cages for next year. Hope to start a new garlic bed with heritage seeds. Fresh garlic next summer. Sue Freeze still has tomatoes on her potted tomato on her potted tomato plant, she must have a green thumb! Come on down to the Greenhouse every 2nd Wednesday of ev- ery month at 10:30 am rain or shine. Oct 10: Prarie Forever Preston Biggs the former sheriff of a small Wild West town, is reeling from the death of his wife and has succumbed to the bot- tle. He gets a chance at redemption when he is asked to escort three women from the prairie back to civilization. Along the way, they meet Olivia Allman an outlaw desperately on the run from her former partner. Preston must pick himself up and defend all the women. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Oct 11: Fall Rummage Sale Ladies and gentlemen it’s time to clean out the storage rooms, closets and draw- ers and make some of those items into monetary rewards. Oct 12: Bridge Builder’s Tech Class & Mentor Program BRIDGES unites and inspires diverse young people to become confident and courageous leaders committed to com- munity transformation. They are coming to work with you on any tech questions or problems you are having. So bring your phones, iPads and laptops. We will also share some of our life experiences with them and they will share theirs with you. The work-shop is from 10:00 am to noon in the LCR. Oct 12: Music with Brad Birkedahl Brad Birkedahl is best known for his work with rockabilly trio, The Dempseys. To- day Birkedahl has expanded his rock n’ roll repertoire with a powerhouse stage show. Brad has assembled an all-star line- up of players to carry on his reputation for bringing great music and dazzling guitar work to the stage. In the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Oct 13 & 27: Through the Bible Through the Bible is a study of the Bible led by Gail Kommer and Barbara Hyland, meeting the 2nd and 4th Saturday of ev- ery month at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room. Oct 14: Kyiv Symphony and Chorus Join us at First Evangelical Church by Sharing the Message of Hope through Music with the Kyiv Symphony & Chorus. Founded in 1993, they began performing sacred masterpieces of classical music, including Handel’s Messiah, Brahms’ Re- quiem, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah, which were banned under Communist rule.
