This “story of a rifle” then follows McAdams’ pursuit, and the rifle as it changes hands, until a final showdown and shoot-out on a rocky mountain precipice. MONA LISA SMILE (2003) Saturday, October 22 | 10:00 am & 1:30 pm Cast: Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Styles, Maggie Gyllenhaal Katherine Ann Watson has accepted a position teaching art histo- ry at the prestigious Wellesley College. Watson is a very modern woman, particularly for the 1950s, and has a passion not only for art but for her students. For the most part, the students all seem to be biding their time, waiting to find the right man to marry. The students are all very bright and Watson feels they are not reaching their potential. Altough a strong bond is formed between teacher and student, Watson’s views are incompatible with the dominant culture of the college. PUMPKIN PIEWARS (2016) Sunday, October 23 | 1:30 pm & 4:00 pm Cast: Julie Gonzalo, Rico Aragon, Michele Scarabelli, Pete Graham Ten years ago, Faye and Lydia each opened their own bakeries in Emeryville, Ohio, after a personal and professional fall-out during a local Pumpkin Pie contest. Now their children - and co-workers - Casey and Sam, are set to carry on the rivalry as they go head-to-head in the same contest. There’s only one prob- lem for these two people who are supposed to hate each other: they start to fall in love. While there he meets and falls in love with the owner’s daughter Leslie, they are married immediately and return to his ranch. The story of their family and its rivalry with cowboy and (later oil tycoon) Jett Rink unfolds across two generations. OCTOBER SKY (1999) Saturday, October 29 | 1:30 pm & 4:00 pm Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Cooper, Laura Dern, Chris Owen In a 1950’s mining town called Coalwood, Homer Hickam is a kid with only one future in sight, to work in the local coal mine like his father. However in October 1957, everything changes when the first artificial satellite, Sputnik goes into orbit. With that event, Homer becomes inspired to learn how to build rock- ets. With his friends and the local nerd, Homer sets to do just that by trial and a lot of error. Only one teacher in the high school understands their efforts and lets them know that they could be- come contenders in the national science fair. Now the gang must learn to perfect their craft and overcome the many problems fac- ing them as they shoot for the stars. HOCUS POCUS 2 (2022) Sunday, October 30 | 1:30 pm & 4:00 pm Cast: Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker, Doug Jones Three young women accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sis- ters to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
