October 2022 EVENTS • 14 • The Pinecone | October 2022 Oct 1: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets every Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Come enjoy coffee and fellowship with us each week. There is a rotating list of resident speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. All men are welcome and encouraged to attend. Oct 1: Game Play Group Like to play games? Bring your own to share or join in with someone already there! Meets in the LCR every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Oct 3: Water Aerobics We have a Water Aerobics class for ev- eryone! Advanced Water Aerobics class- es will be held on Mondays & Wednes- days at 8:30 & 9:30. Spots are limited so be sure to sign up in the Oasis. Basic and Beginning Water Aerobics classes are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics is held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 am. Oct 3: Group Exercise Join us for Group Exercise every Mon- day, Wednesday & Friday. We will be in the PAC at 9:30 am. Oct 3: Poetry Group Come and join the poetry group. You’ll be surprised at howmuch poetry you al- ready know and love. All are invited to attend! We will meet in the Ante room at 10:00 am. Oct 3: Hobby Pines Group Enjoy wood working? Join the Hobby Pines group. We meet every Monday at 10:00 am in the Hobby Shop. Oct 3: Bingo Bingo is back! Come join us in the PAC every Monday night at 6:00 pm. Cards are $1 to play, limit 2 cards per person. Oct 4: Medical Director Dr. Mike Abutineh MD Will be in the Wellness Clinic Tuesdays 9:00 am -12:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00- 4:30 pm. Appointments required. Oct 4: Sit and Stand Class Come get moving! Join us every Tues- day and Thursday in the PAC for our Arthritis Sit and Stand Class. Can’t make it to the PAC? Turn you TV to channel 2.1 and join us right from your living room! Oct 4: Afternoon Bridge Bridge will begin at 1:00 pm on Tues- day afternoons. If you would like to join come out to the Ante Room. Oct 4: BUNKO Join this fun group of folks every Tues- day at 1:30 pm in the SCR for the great game of BUNKO. Oct 4: Line Dancing Line Dancing will be held every Tues- day and Thursday at 1:30 pm in the PAC. Come join for some fun exercise and a great way to make new friends. Everyone is welcome. Oct 4: Jobs Silicon Valley genius Steve Jobs chang- es the world but alienates the people around him as he rises from college dropout to the head of Apple. Show- times are at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Oct 4 & 17: Tech Time Bring your phones, tablets, laptop what- ever issue you have they will be glad to help. Margie will be coming the 1st Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm and Cathy will be coming every 3rd Monday at 10:30 am in the Sunroom. Oct 5: Catholic Services The Church of the Holy Spirit will be holding Catholic services in the chapel every Wednesday at 10:00 am. The sec- ond Wednesday of each month is mass and communion and the Rosary will be offered all other weeks. Oct 5: Pinecone Painters Enjoy art? Like doing acrylic, water- color, oil, or fabric? Come join the Pinecone Painters. They will meet each Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Arts and Crafts room. Oct 5: Travelers: Botanic Gardens Please join us for a new walk-through immersive art experience, Alice In Wonderland at the Memphis Botanic Garden, and lunch at Fratelli’s Cafe! The exhibition includes larger-than-life Al- ice In Wonderland themed sculptures, including The Red Queen, Alice, The Chess Set, and The Cheshire Cat. To sign up by sure to bring $15 by the Res- ident Programs office. We’ll meet in the KP Lobby at 10:45 am. Oct 5: Needle Arts Group Have a passion for needle arts? Come join the group in the Sunroom on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. Oct 5: The Starling A woman adjusting to life after a loss contends with a feisty bird that’s taken over her garden- and a husband who struggling to find a way forward. Show- times are at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Oct 5: Ballroom Dancing Our mission is to share our love of ball- room dance with you. Ballroom dancing is that perfect combination of physical activity, social interaction, and mental stimulation, and it’s FUN! Join us every Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the PAC for a group class and ask us about private lessons. Oct 5: Bridge Group The Bridge Group meets every Wednes- day at 6:15 pm and is open to all resi- dents. Bring a partner and come join us. There is a sign-up binder outside of the Library.
