Garden Gro’ers
Club Meeting
You don’t need a green thumb to be a
member of this busy group. This has
been an unusually wet season with
plants maturing late and dying ear-
ly. We will be clearing out the beds in
preparation for winter garden planting.
Contact Dr. Charles Parrott with ques-
tions at 795-4394 or if there is anyone
interested in gardening this winter or
next spring so that a site can be selected.
Come on down to the Greenhouse ev-
ery 2nd Wednesday at 10:30 am and dig
in!

Music in the Lobby

Tai Chi
If you’re looking for a way to reduce
stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE).
Originally developed for self-defense,
tai chi has evolved into a graceful form
of exercise that’s now used for stress
reduction and a variety of other health
conditions. Under the instruction of
Sheila Raye, Tai Chi meets in the Large
Card Room every Monday at 2:00 pm.

with Ease
Join Mary Hand as she begins a fall ses-
sion of the Walk with Ease class. Class-
es will begin September 8th and run
through November 5th, meeting twice
a week, Monday & Wednesday, for 9
weeks in the PAC at 10:30 am.

be recognized and promoted. Join us in
the Performing Arts Center at 9:45 am

improve your lifestyle as you age.

Bereavement
Support Group
Kirby Pines is now offering a Bereave-
ment Support group for those of our
residents who have lost a loved one. La-
mar Frizzell will lead the group to serve
people in gaining perspective about
their losses and support them in regain-
ing a healthy quality of life. The group
meets the 3rd Monday of every month
at 10:00 am in the Ante Room.
