The Pinecone | September 2026 • 3 • Get to know Kirby Pines' Denny Parker was born in Booneville, Mississippi and Sharon lived in Henderson, Tennessee until her family moved to Memphis when she was in the 3rd grade. They come to Kirby Pines from their home in Germantown. They have been married 59 years and have a son, Rusty. Denny sold medical products for BOC (British Oxygen Company) for 20 years, winning many awards for sales. Sharon, who continues working, has a degree in accounting and has worked 28 years for Tesco Properties, Inc. as a bookkeeper. Sharon enjoys reading, games and church activities, while Denny is a big football fan. They both are interested in Bible studies, and Sharon roots for Ole Miss. She also collects books, but let them all go in the move. She is ready to start over, however. They have traveled to Europe and throughout the United States. Their most memorable trip was for their 50th anniversary when they took a train from Minnesota to Montana and through Glacier National Park. They also have enjoyed their time share in Hot Spring, Arkansas, with their family. Denny’s friends would describe him as caring, prayerful and always puts family first. Sharon is invested in others, outgoing, positive and the only one in her family with a college degree, which she is proud of. We are thrilled the Parkers have chosen Kirby Pines for their home. We’d like to welcome them to the family! Sharon & Denny Parker Ted & Sandi Braun Ted (Theodore) & Sandi Braun come to Kirby Pines from their home in Bartlett, Tennessee. Ted was born in Medford, Oregon and Sandi in Hamilton, Ohio. They have been married 47 years and have three children. Ted served as a Spec 3 in the US Army and was assigned to construction in Japan and Korea. He also attended Southern Oregon College and received a degree in computer programming in 1977 and worked over 40 years at FedEx as a programmer. Sandi was a real estate loan officer for Baker Donaldson and still manages property in California. Ted is interested in finance and gardening, while Sandi enjoys painting, writing, reading, gardening, traveling and genealogy. Sandi stays active through yoga and tai-chi while also assisting Ted as his caregiver. She is a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and his favorite actor is John Wayne. Sandi also collects “trees”, you’ll have to ask her about that. They are well traveled from the US to Mexico, Canada and all of Europe. Enjoyed 18 day tours seeing a different country every day. Ted is proud to be financially set up to retire happy, and Sandi is proud to be married to a good, kind man, who works hard and does his best. We are happy to have them move to our wonderful community and look forward to getting to know the two of them. If you see them around or in the dining room, make sure you reach out and welcome them.
