April 1 • Get Fit with Oasis

April 1 • First Monday Poetry Group
The First Monday Poetry Group meets
in the Ante Room on Monday April 1st
at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
Come to listen; come to read; come to
recite from memory. Share a favorite
verse or two as others share their verse
with you. Every first Monday at 10:00
a.m. all poetry lovers have a spot.
Check out The Poet’s Corner on the
post office bulletin board. A residential
poet will be featured each month.
April 1 • Monday Night Bible
Discussion Group
Come learn about and discuss the Bible
with this Interdenominational group
every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the
Chapel.
April 2 • Kirby Pines Prayer Group
Join the Kirby Pines Prayer Group
every first and fourth Tuesday in the
Chapel at 10:30 a.m. as we pray for
friends and family.
April 2 • Lunch Bunch at Paulette’s
It’s Spring! To kick off our “April in
Paris” theme, we will be traveling to
the epicurean restaurant Paulette’s. Let
us delight in good food and comfort
in the intimate, well-appointed dining
room which features fine woodwork
and high ceilings, as well as original
artwork and abundant fresh flowers.
The high windows afford breathtaking
views of the Mississippi River in
Downtown Memphis, and let us not
forget the food! For many years,
Paulette’s has won recognition for
Memphis’ “Best Continental Cuisine.”
Bus leaves at 10:30 a.m. Sign up in
Transportation.
April 2 • Downton Abbey Series,
Episode 5
As the village prepares for the annual
flower show, Isobel finds herself in
conflict with Violet, and Mary is
introduced to a potential suitor, but
it would seem she only has eyes for
Matthew. Anna realizes who is to
blame when a valuable snuff box
goes missing, and Mrs. Patmore
tearfully reveals her fears to Carson
that her career may be coming to an
end. Meanwhile, O’Brien engineers
a way for Edith to take revenge on
Mary. Episode 5 will be shown at both
2:00
p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Movie
Theater.
April 2 • “Spasenie,” a Belarusian
Band Performance
Salvation is coming soon to you! For
over two decades, the Belarusian band
Spasenie” (“Salvation” in English)
has been committed to preaching the
gospel through music in the former
Soviet Union and beyond. Through
their ministry in their hometown of
Brest, Belarus, a city of about 300,000
near the Polish border, hundreds have
come to faith. A church planted in
1996,
pastured by Spasenie’s lyricist
Alexander Borisiuk, now has 600
members. And Kirby Pines is a stop
on their mini tour! Don’t miss this
inspiring performance from across the
globe at 6:30 p.m. in The Performing
Arts Center.
April 3 • Kirby Pines Travel
Club Meeting
Calling all adventurous spirits! Let’s get
on the road again! Join the Travel Club
at 10:30 a.m. in The Large Card Room.
Our primary focus will be on shorter,
local trips with one or two longer
trips throughout the year. Wherever
your traveling interests lie, we can
accommodate you! Whether you want
to join our planning committee or are
happier on the sidelines, we have a
spot for you! Join us!
April 3 • Virtual Wii Bowling
Come join the fun every Wednesday
afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Large
Card Room. No skill required. It’s new
and it’s FUN! NEWS FLASH: You
can now play Wii with friends or your
grandkids any time in the Large Card
Room! It is set up on the tv; all you
have to do is check out the remotes
from the Front Desk and return them
whenever your game is over.
April 3 • Computer Class
Ever wished you could email friends
on Face book or Skype with your
grandchildren? If so, come down for
the computer classes every Wednesday
at 3:00 p.m. in the Library Computer
Room. There is no need to sign up in
advance, just show up and learn new
skills or polish up the old ones. We also
have Skype! Time for a Skype date
with out of town family and friends!
April 3 • The Dean Martin Show
Join the gang for a fun-filled hour of
laughs and music with everyone’s
favorite, The Dean Martin Show, on
Wednesday April 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in
the Movie Theater.
April 4 • Group Bible Study
with Dave Phillips
Join Germantown Church of Christ
Dave Phillips as he leads group Bible
study every Thursday morning at
10:00
a.m. in the Chapel. Dave is an
extraordinary speaker and teacher.
April 4 • AARP Tax Assistance
Volunteers from AARP Tax Assistance
will be here to assist on taxes on
Thursday, April 4th from 9:00 a.m.-

p.m. in theLibrary, by appointment
ONLY. Appointments are limited. Call
