Feb 1: Mahjong with Jody Join Jody on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room to learn the ancient Chinese game of Mahjong. Feb 1: Music with Kevin Carson Kevin is a talented guitarist and vocalist who specializes in songs from the 50s with a little from the 60s and 70s. He’s been a band leader for the past 20 years, touring throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia with such notables as Hootie & The Blowfish, Edwin McCain, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Lee. Kevin is moving to Des- tin next month, so be sure and see his last performance here at Kirby in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Feb 2: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning in the Ante Room at 7:30 am. There is a rotating list of resi- dent speakers who give a devotion at each meeting. Come enjoy coffee and fellow- ship with us each week. Feb 3: Superbowl Bash Join us in the PAC for football, food and fun as we watch the Los Angeles Rams square off against the New England Pa- triots. Party starts at 5:00 pm kickoff 5:30 pm. Hotdog buffet with all the fixins at halftime. Put on your game face and join the gang. Feb 4: Get Fit with Oasis Coordinator Mary Hand Advanced Water Aerobics classes will be held on Mondays & Wednesdays at 8:30 am. Basic and Beginning Water Aero- bics is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 am. Ar- thritis Sit/Stand classes are on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11:00 am in the PAC. Feb 4: First Monday Poetry Group Come to listen; come to read; come to re- cite from memory. Check out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post office bulletin board where a residential poet will be featured. We meet the first Monday of every month in the Ante Room at 10:00 am. Feb 4: Focus on Color Coloring books are incredibly simple, portable, easy to pick up and put down, and a colored–in page takes up almost no space. So come to the Arts & Crafts Room the first and third Monday at 10:00 am. Feb 4: Mahjong Join in and play Mahjong every Monday at 1:15 pm in the SCR. Feb 4: Magnum: L.A. Magnum is in Los Angeles serving a writ when he meets a woman who is later mur- dered. Magnum sets out to find the killer and possibly finds his soulmate. Show- time 1:30 pm. Feb 4: Game Play Group Like to play games? Bring your own to share or join in with someone already there! Meets in the Large Card Room ev- ery Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1:30 pm. Feb 4: Tai Chi Originally developed for self-defense, Tai Chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise. Every Monday in the PAC at 2:00 pm. Feb 4: Bingo Night Join us for a fun-filled evening of BINGO! Entry costs only $1 per card, with an op- portunity to win up to two prizes. Every Monday night at 6:30 pm in the PAC. Due to New Year’s Eve Dance the first week of bingo will be held on Tuesday Night at 6:30 pm. Feb 5: Medical Director Dr. Mike Abutineh MD Will be in the Wellness Clinic Tuesdays 9:00 am -12:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00- 4:30 pm. Appointments required. Feb 5: BUNKO J oin this fun group of folks every Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the LCR for the great game of BUNKO. Feb 5: Sneakers Computer hacker Martin heads a group of specialists who test the security of various San Francisco companies. Showtime 1:30 pm. Feb 5: Tech Time with Margie We are now setting up a another tech class in the evening. It will be held the 1st Tues- day of every month in the LCR at 5:30 pm. So if you need some guidance in hearing your phone calls, opening or sending at- tachments or sending or receiving help be sure and head up for some tech time with Margie. Feb 5: IRIS Orchestra: Truehart & Ortega Memphis native Carrington Truehart is the newest cello fellow in the IRIS pro- gram. He has been a member of the Jack- son Symphony, PRIZM ensemble, and more. Puerto Rican violist Rosa Ortega is the newest viola fellow in the IRIS pro- gram. Rosa has taught violin and viola at the Puerto Rican Institute of Music, Phila- delphia String Project, Play on Philly, and has coached younger chamber groups at the Dali Quartet International Music Fes- tival. Don’t miss this fabulous duo at 6:00 pm in the Lobby. Feb 6: KP Travelers Meeting Be sure and come to the first Travler’s meeting of the New Year! You’ll get to hear about some of the wonderful outings that Carol Yount has organized so far for the 2019. So if you have any place or thing in mind you are interested in be sure and bring those suggestions with you. They meet the first Wednesday of every month 10:00 am. Feb 6: Yoga Stretch This is not advanced so don’t worry about getting on the floor and not being able to get up. You will be sitting in a chair or standing. Class is every Wednesday at 10:30 am in the PAC.
