Feb 6: Groundhog Day A cynical TV weatherman finds him- self reliving the same day over and over again when he goes on location to the small town of Punxsutawney to film a report about their annual Groundhog Day. Showtimes 1:30 pm & 6:30 pm. Feb 6: Ballroom Dancing Join the gang for ballroom dancing les- sons with Ken Black. Lessons will take place every Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the PAC. Feb 6: Virtual Wii Bowling Come join the fun every Wednesday af- ternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large Card Room. No skill required. It is set up on the TV; all you have to do is check out the remotes from the Front Desk and return them whenever your game is over. Feb 7: Bible Study with Dave Phillips Join Germantown Church of Christ’s Dave Phillips as he leads a group Bible Study every Thursday at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Dave is a great teacher and speak- er. All denominations invited. Feb 7: The Crown: Season 2 The Crown season two will pick up where season one ended, covering the period be- tween 1955 and 1964. It will see England fighting an illegal war in Egypt and go on to see Prime Minister Harold Macmillan resign after scandal. Lots of drama to cov- er! Showtime 1:30 pm. Feb 8: Music with Heart Memphis Duo Heart Memphis Duo includes Adam Levine on keyboards and vocals and Steve Corbett on guitar, playing memory-pro- voking songs that brighten your day. Their performances are fun and energetic, and always include audience participation. Check them out in the Lobby at 6:00 pm. Feb 8: Orpheum: Glenn Miller Orchestra The world-famous Glenn Miller Orches- tra brings timeless classics like “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Chat- tanooga Choo Choo,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” “String of Pearls,” and “Tuxedo Junction” back to the stage. Feb 9 & 23: Through the Bible Through the Bible is a study of the Bible led by Gail Kommer and Barbara Hyland, meeting the 2nd and 4th Saturday of ev- ery month at 10:00 am in the Small Card Room. Bring a Bible and notebook. Join this group of ladies who enjoy learning about God’s Word. All are welcome. Feb 9 & 23: Trivia Night Come play trivia if you like to play just for fun, non-competitive. Meet the gang in the Lobby every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 6:15 pm. Feb 11: Magnum PI: One Picture Is Worth A deaf woman witnesses a bank robbery where four people are murdered. Mag- num agrees to act as her bodyguard after the murderer is released on bail. Show- time 1:30 pm. Feb 12: Pick of the Litter Following five spirited puppies from the moment they’re born through their quest to become guide dogs for the blind. Show- Time 1:30 pm. Feb 12: Birthday Night with Violinist Basil Alter Violinist Basil Alter will be presenting us with another of his wonderful violin programs accompanied on piano by Dr. Brian Ray. Basil is the son of Adam Alter band leader at Ridgeway high school that was here entertaining us during Christ- mas and his Aunt is our own Clara Mae Frances. Don’t miss these two excellent musicians. Performance starts at 6:30 pm in the PAC. . Feb 13: Garden Club Meeting Areas on flower tables have now been cleared for our seed trays. Everyone must sign up for garden space this year. Please write your name and request down and give it to Dr. Parrott. Meeting him in the halls and saying you want the same as last year may not be recorded. First planting date will be Feb. 27 and second March 13. Peppers, eggplant and squash will be started then. Pick your greens now. New trellises are being built, ready for tomatoes soon. Please put your excess harvest in sunroom for residents that cannot garden. They are very generous to us. Lee Brown is going to challenge Sue Freeze this year for the best patio tomato! Come on down to the Greenhouse every 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am rain or shine and dig in! Feb 13: Charlie Day One of everyone’s favorite days is Charlie Day, when we have scrambled eggs, coun- try ham, grits with red eye gravy and best of all Charlie’s homemade biscuits with special jams and jellies ordered from his home state of Virginia. Charlie Breakfast will be served for lunch and dinner. If you have not already turned in your updated resident profile sheet, you will need it to get in the Dining Room. Lunch and Din- ner will be served at the normal times. This is a plated meal and you will be seat- ed as you come in.
