Garden Gro’ers
Club Meeting
You don’t need a green thumb to be a
member of this busy group. Spring is
here and the Gro’ers will be tending,
fertilizing and watering their seedlings.
With the help of the new Personal To-
mato Trellis (which grows four tomato
plants which allow plenty for the grower
to enjoy and share) they anticipate the
harvest of the first tomato by July the

st. Contact Dr. Charles Parrott with

to the Greenhouse on Wednesday, June

The Winds of Death”
Journey into the Wild West in this
sweeping sensational epic drama! A
real estate tycoon lures Eastern fami-
lies to Centennial with promises of fer-

Up for a baseball game? Kirby Residents
are invited to head to the fields at the
Memphis Redbirds Baseball Stadium for
another afternoon of hot dogs, popcorn
and home runs! Tickets are $15 plus the

forces of Nazi Germany, and the prepa-
ration and execution of the Allied inva-
sion of Normandy. Discover the plans,
the people, the courage and the sacrifice
that led to that unforgettable day. Will be
shown at 2:00 pm in the Movie Theater
for the 70th Anniversary of D-Day.

Mystery of the Nile”
By following expedition leaders Pasquale
Scaturro and Gordon Brown on a gruel-
ing, 114-day journey down the world’s
most dangerous river, Spanish film-
maker Jordi Llompart captures the first
successful attempt in history to travel
the Blue Nile from source to sea. Along
the way, the intrepid explorers and their
crew encounter all manner of intimidat-
ing obstacles, including treacherous rap-
ids, a well-armed militia and a cranky
crocodile. Will be shown at 10:00 AM &

collecting dust in the back of your clos-
et, it could make you a winner! Judging
starts at 12:30 pm in the dining room. A
musical performance by Swain Schaef-
fer in the Lobby will follow at 1:30 pm.

Hydration & Heat Safety”
Beat the summer heat and learn how to
stay healthy and hydrated in this month’s
Smart Moves presentation. It is impor-
tant to drink plenty of water and protect
yourself from overexposure from the
summer sun. Smart Moves meets in the
Performing Arts Center at 9:45 am, im-
mediately following Exercise.

Bereavement
Support Group
Kirby Pines will now be offering a Be-
reavement Support group for those of
our residents who have lost a loved. La-
mar Frizzell will lead the Bereavement
Support Group to serve people in gain-
ing perspective about their losses and
support them in regaining a healthy
quality of life. The group meets the 3rd
Monday of every month at 10:00 am in
the Ante Room.
