Jim & Diane Johnson
Ben & Helen Noah
Jim and Diane were both born in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, have been married 51 years, and moved to
Kirby Pines fromGermantown, Tennessee. They have two
children, Melissa and Michael, and three grandchildren.
Jim was an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at
University of Tennessee before becoming Vice President
of Research and Development at Schering Plough
Healthcare Products. Diane worked in Early Childhood
Education, teaching kindergarten through second grade
and just loved working with children.
They have traveled to many places, but Diane’s
favorite was a cruise ship to Europe, where they learned
that people of different cultures are so similar. Jim’s
favorite trip was to observe the unique geography and
wildlife of Australia and New Zealand.
They both enjoy music, mostly jazz. Diane enjoys
sewing and Jim loves playing golf and is an avid reader.
Ben and Helen Noah were both born and raised on
farms in Mississippi, and met on a blind date. It was
“love at first sight”, according to Helen. They married
in 1961, have two sons, four grandchildren, and a great
granddaughter.
Ben went to University of Tulsa on a football
scholarship and went on to work for E.I. Dupont for 23
years as a shift supervisor. Helen attended the Memphis
School of Commerce and worked for Parts Inc. of
Memphis for 27 years as office manager and in accounts
payable. After they both retired, they took a wonderful
two week trip to Hawaii.
Helen loves decorating their home, crocheting and
reading. Ben is a golfer and enjoys going deer hunting.
They both love to dance and travel. They also are big Ole
Miss fans and had season football tickets for 40 years and
had great times traveling to the games. They still follow
Ole Miss, only now they watch on TV.
