Fall Is Finally Here!
The beginning of the fall season is
a great time to reflect on the variety
of events we enjoyed during the
summer months and to anticipate those
ahead, and what better way to begin
than by acknowledging all that we
celebrated during the 30th Anniversary
Celebration. Residents, guests and
employees shared their time and smiles
so that everyone could create new
memories of life at Kirby Pines.
The start of a new season is a good
time to remember and thank all who
make Kirby Pines a wonderful place
to live. Beginning with October 1st,
which was designated by the General
Assembly of the United Nations in
1990
as International Day of the Older
Person, you and I get a much deserved
day of recognition.
This month we also acknowledge:
National Custodial Worker’s Day,
October 2nd, is set aside for us to thank
the numerous employees that maintain
the overall appearance of our beautiful
community; October 20-26 is National
Pastoral Care Week, and we need to
make time to thank our Chaplin, Don
Fall Reflection
a t K i r b y P i n e s
Johnson, and the numerous residents
that coordinate such activities as
the Men’s Christian Fellowship, the
Women’s Bible Study group, andVesper
services to name but a few; October
20
th is Facility Service Worker’s Day
,
designated as a day to recognize the
work force that ensures our safety and
security.
Please join me in thanking these
individuals for the time they dedicate to
make a difference in your life. Along
this same thought, October 26 is Make
a Difference Day – and we all have the
ability to do something small that makes
a difference. Let’s make sure we start
the fall season by making a positive
difference at Kirby Pines Estates.
It is that wonderful time of year,
when the weather gets cooler, the
trees are painted with hues of oranges,
yellows, reds and browns and we finally
get to fall back and relax.
Many people dislike having to
change their clocks to make the
days shorter, but after all the parties,
ceremonies, programs, exhibits and
special events that were held at Kirby
Pines during the month of September to
celebrate our 30th Anniversary, I think
falling back will be embraced by all.
So this month’s cover has Jewel
Crowson, Art Sandvig and Peggy
Hogan starting early by taking in some
crisp fresh air and enjoying the beautiful
grounds here at Kirby.
We couldn’t have asked for a
prettier day, a lovlier setting or a more
enjoyable group of residents to help
make our October cover special. Their
smiles say it all and we thank them
from the bottom of our hearts.
Enjoy your October, take in the
beauty it brings, put on your coziest
sweater and simply relax.
