Tracy grew up in Longview, TX
and Bettye was born in Grenada, MS,
yet they both ended up in Baton Rouge,
attending LSU when they met at church
and fell in love. They have 2 children,
Amy and Tracy and 2 grandchildren,
Lawrence an Dudley.
Tracy worked in pharmaceutical
sales and management, where he won
many awards, and Bettye graduated
with a degree in medical technology,
but went on to become a certified
fundraising executive, raising money
for several local charities, including
LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, Make
A Wish, Habitat for Humanity and
many more.
They both truly enjoy listening to
church hymns and music and love the
time they have with their friends and
family. Thanksgiving is what they love
to celebrate most, because they invite
a “mix-mash” of friends of different
faiths, who are “truly extended family
members”.

Tracy & Bettye Speake
Sully Carter
J.R. & Corinne Graham
Sully was born in Clarkedale,
Arkansas, but lived most of his life in
Marion, where he farmed.
He has 2 sons, Sandy, who has 3
children and works for Trustmark Bank
in Jackson, Mississippi and Scott, who
has 2 children living here in Memphis.
Sully and his late wife were very
active in the Marion community where
he served on the City Council for 20
years, was on the Crittenden Hosptial
Board for 15 years, was a member of
the Levee Board for 20 years and was
also on the Cotton Council for over 15
years.
He very much enjoys dancing,
golf and tennis and is an avid sports
fan. Football is by far his favorite. His
favorite foods are steak and shrimp with
strawberry dessert.
We are happy to have him join the
Kirby Pines family and welcome him
with open arms!
J.R. was born in Searcy County,
Arkansas and Corinne in Harris County,
Texas. They were both widowed when
they met and married at ages 62 and 52.
J.R. served in the US Navy during
World War II and Korea, farmed, was
a Memphis City Fireman and worked
for the Postal Service. Corinne taught
high school, junior high and elementary
school, and even went back to school
herself in her 40’s to earn her Master’s
Degree with a 4.0 grade average.
They have traveled to Alaska,
Scandinavia, the Caribbean, Hawaii,
Puerto Rico, the Canadian Rockies, the
British Isles, Ireland and cruised New
England.
They both enjoy reading and
going to see the symphony or other
musical shows. J.R. likes to work out,
do crossword puzzles, watch movies
and play cards. Corinne likes to cook
and entertain friends and is active in
Associated Women for Harding.
