The Pinecone | April 2026 • 15 • Apr 4: Men’s Christian Fellowship The Men’s Christian Fellowship meets ev- ery Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Come enjoy coffee and fellowship with us each week. There is a rotating list of resident speakers who give a devotion at each meet- ing. All men are welcome and encouraged to attend. Apr 4: Annual Easter Egg Hunt Join us for our annual Easter egg hunt. Bring the whole family to enjoy this fun- filled event. We will have special appear- ances from the Easter bunny himself and Miss Patches who will be painting faces. Be sure to let Resident Programs know the names and ages of your happy little egg hunters who will be joining us. Festivities will begin at 10:00 am by the playground (weather permitting). Apr 5: Church of Christ Service Our service will be every Sunday at 8:00 am in the PAC. All are welcome & encouraged to attend. Apr 5: Worship Service Whether you come join us or watch us from home, be sure to catch our Sunday service at 10:00 am in the PAC. All are welcome & encouraged to attend. Apr 5: Easter Brunch Attention Kirby Pines Residents! Join us in the dining room for a special Easter Brunch. Make sure to fill out an RSVP which is lo- cated at the Front Desk by April 3rd. Apr 6: Poetry & Writing Club The Poetry & Creative Writing Club meets on the 1st Monday of every month at 9:30 am in the A&C Studio. This month’s prompt “It began to snow about 4 O’Clock in the afternoon…”. Be sure to check our stories in the Pinecone. They are sure to entertain and get your creativity flowing. Apr 6: Hobby Pines Group Enjoy wood working? Join the Hobby Pines group. We meet every Monday at 10:00 am in the Hobby Shop. Apr 6: Bingo Who dones’t love Bingo? You’re sure to make a new friend or catch up with some old friends. Join us in the PAC every Mon- day night at 6:00 pm. Cards are $1 to play, limit 2 cards per person. Apr 6: Resident’s Choice Movie Night Resident’s choice movie night is going to be held every Monday night at 6:30 pm. Here is your chance to pick the movie. Let Sal- ly Cook know the week before what movie you want to see. Apr 7: CardioMove & Strength Gentle cardio and strength exercises to en- hance energy and strength. This class will improve strength, improve balance, en- hance energy and delay muscle and bone loss. Join us in the PAC at 10:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Apr 7: Travelers: Calvary Rescue Mission Join the Travelers to the Calvary Rescue Mission Luncheon for their $5 all you can eat fried chicken on Tuesday, April 7th. Sign up in Resident Programs. Lobby time is 10:00 am. Transportation fee is $5. Don’t forget your lunch money! Apr 7 & 21: Duplicate Bridge Duplicate Bridge will begin at 1:00 pm on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month. If you would like to join, come out to the FDR. Apr 7: BUNKO Join this fun group of folks every Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the SCR for the great game of BUNKO. Apr 7: Photo Club Join us for our Phot Club Wall Presentation at 3:00 pm outside the Bistro. We will replace some old club photos with new to enjoy! Refreshments will be served. Apr 8: Garden Gro’ers April weather, rain & sunshine both togeth- er. If you enjoy gardening as much as we do, we would love for you to become a member of our gardening community. Join us in the Greenhouse at 10:30 am. Apr 10: Strength Training As we age, it is so important that we main- tain our strength in order to independently care for ourselves and loved ones. Join us every Friday at 10:15 am in the PAC for our strengthening exercise class. Apr 10: Yoga Stretch Gentle yoga can be very effective for se- niors in preventing or slowing down the loss of bone density, and relieving bone and joint pain. Come on out and join Ms. Kim every Friday at 10:45 am in the PAC. Apr 10: Music: Donna Wolf Join us in the PAC for the wonderful mu- sical talents of Kirby favorite, Donna Wolf. We are sure you will be swept away by her charisma & her amazing skills with the Vi- olin. Music begins at 6:00 pm. Apr 11 & 25: Trivia Group All residents are welcome to attend this noncompetitive activity, and are encour- aged to participate, or just listen and en- joy. The THEME for April will be Sports & Leisure. However, Trivia questions can be presented on any topic. Join us at 6:15 pm in the ante room. Apr 12: Hymn Sing with Leon Please Join us in the Chapel for a resident led Hymn singing with Mr. Leon Sander- son. We will begin at 4:00 pm. Apr 14: Women's Bible Study Ladies, come join our new women’s bible study organized by Germantown Presbyte- rian Church. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Apr 14: Arthritis Foundation Bake Sale Arthritis Foundation from 10:00 am to until we sale out in the Lobby on Tuesday, April 14th. Please deliver your baked goods to the Resident Programs office the day before unless you plan to bring something delicious straight out of the oven the day of. Apr 15: Caregiver Support Are you caring for a loved one? Our sup- port group meets the 3rd Wednesday of ev- ery month in the Small Card Room at 10:00 am. We find support as well as comforting suggestions for unique problems. Caregiv- ing is very difficult. Come be a part of our group. Apr 15: Early Voting Attention Residents, we will have the Elec- tion Commission bring Early Voting ma- chines to the Kirby Pines PAC so that you may have the chance to vote in our local elections without having to leave campus. Doors across from the Golden Elevator will open around 1:30 pm but you may line up before then. This is a first come first serve event.
