FIT TEST
“
Have you ever heard the term, senior fitness test?” Have you ever participated in one? If you answered “yes”, you are already
on the right track! If you have NOT, then it is highly recommended that you participate in one. Generally speaking, a senior fit-
ness test is a standardized test that evaluates an individual’s upper and lower body strength and flexibility. It also evaluates an
individual’s dynamic balance and aerobic endurance.
Many individuals see “FIT TEST” and instantly become hesitant and/or afraid. The
matter of fact is that this test can be modified to each individual’s ability. This test
is specific to an individual’s age group and can alert you to specific needs and
areas to be addressed. Think of the Senior Fit Test as an bi-annual check up on
your physical well-being.
Please join us on Wednesday, January 7, at 10:00 AM in the PAC to learn more
about this test. We will be discussing each of the 6 tests performed; we will
go over the benefit and purpose of each one as well. By the end of this lec-
ture, we hope that you leave feeling excited and comfortable with doing the
test each time it is offered at Kirby Pines. If
