you to walk with them on
a certain day at a certain
time, you are more willing to
make the extra effort to do it.
Our Walk with Ease
program
incorporates
walking together, pairing
people up according to their
pace. Walking time passes
quickly when you are in conversation
with a friend. In fact, that is a test for
over-exertion: If you can speak without
being short of breath, you are walking at
a good pace. And if you can’t talk, that
means to slow down. By the end of our
9
week program, you have a walking
buddy and a healthy habit. Our Walk
with Ease program will be offered again
this fall beginning September 8.
Our group exercise
programs
provide
great
opportunities to meet new
friends and improve your
strength,
flexibility,
and
balance. When you belong
to an exercise group, you
are missed when you are
not there for some reason.

I remember when I was a kid at
summer camp and whenever we went
swimming, I always had a swimming
buddy. We had to keep up with each
other and if one left the water so did the
other. Having a buddy made swim time
more fun and safer, too.
Exercise is more fun with a buddy.
An exercise partner helps you stay
committed to your exercise program.
If it is just for ourselves, we might let
our exercise plans slide for that day and
maybe the next and soon we have fallen
NEW EXERCISE SCHEDULE FOR THE OASIS
and keep coming to class. We celebrate
when someone makes improvements in
class and encourage each other on the
days it is hard to get going.
Our new MEN ONLY water aerobics
class has brought a lot of jokes and
laughter along with some good exercise
for our participants. Everything is more
fun with a friend. “It’s better to have a
partner than go it alone.” Ecclesiastes
