Sylvia Baldwin comes to Kirby
Pines from her previous home in
Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Sylvia wanted to be a nurse since
she was about 8 years old. So, it’s not
surprising that her professional career
was in the medical arena, working as
a Registered Nurse after earning her
Associate Degree at Arkansas State
University. She was fortunate that
the University offered classes at the
Little Rock Air Force Base where her
husband, Lawrence, was stationed.
She and her husband, Lawrence,
were married 57 years before he passed
away in 2008. They have a family of 4
children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-
grand children. Frequent moves were
the norm for this military family, but
she holds pleasant memories of visiting
Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii, and many
trips to the beach.
She prefers popular music of the
40
s and 50s, as well as classical music.
Her hobbies include reading, movies,
and crocheting.
This lovely lady is finding her niche
here, through the kindness of other
residents. The folks at Kirby Pines are
known for its reaching out to draw new
residents into the fold. Sylvia, you’re in
good hands here. We wish you all the
best.

Andy Boles
New resident, Andy Boles, says
he’s still unpacking boxes and looking
for the best placements for furniture and
accessories brought to his new Garden
Home here at Kirby Pines. His task at
hand is a familiar one to all of us, but an
exciting one, as well.
Andy and his wife, Robbie,
have a son and daughter, as well
as four granddaughters. He is a
native Memphian, having attended
Whitehaven High School and Memphis
State University. Before retirement,
he was in pharmaceutical sales for 38
years; 32 years with Schering/Plough.
His work was his life, especially after
his wife, Robbie, passed away in 1986.
His children graduated from college
and moved away to start their respective
career paths.
Andy has vacationed in Paris and
Jamaica, and visited most states in the
United States as part of his work in
the pharmaceutical industry. He’s firm
about one thing; namely, he will never
have to get on an airplane again!
We are pleased that Andy Boles
chose to join the Kirby Pines Residential
Community. He will find multiple
opportunities to give his talents and
interests in support of our programs.
Welcome, Andy.
Nadine Clark
Nadine Clark was born in Gallipolis,
Ohio (a close neighbor of West Virginia)
and lived formany years inConroe, Texas.
She has one son and two grandchildren.
Her professional career was 26 years as
an International Reservations Agent with
Continental Airlines and, later, United
Airlines. An accomplishment of which
she is most proud is perfect attendance for
9
years (including 7 consecutive years)
while at Continental Airlines.
Nadine tells us that she’s blessed to
have her best friend here with her. The
best friend is Toby, a 10-year old Old
English Sheep Dog, one that Nadine
delivered along with 9 other pups. She
credits Toby as the only reason she made
it through 2013 – characterized as the
worst year of her life. In 2013, she lost
her mother, husband, and was diagnosed
with breast cancer. Toby kept her going
because she knew no one would care for
him like she would.
Her interests include sports and golf.
Her favorite foods and drinks are Italian
food and Margaritas. She also very much
enjoys country music.
Welcome Nadine, you have much in
common with our community which is
home to a host of dog lovers, as well as
other residents that share your preferences
in music, food, and fellowship. We are
pleased that you’ve chosen Kirby Pines
to be your home!
