New Year!

Christmas Stroll for Kirby Pines

Monday, December 21

The Walk with Ease reunion walk is scheduled for

Monday, December 21st at 10:30. Meet in the PAC

for warm-up and stretches and then Walk the Halls to

enjoy the beautiful Christmas Decorations. We’ll walk for

15 – 30 minutes and return to the PAC for cool down,

stretches and some Christmas cookies. Everyone is

welcome to join in this “healthy” Christmas event.

What’s New in the New Year

Yoga Stretch will begin Wednesday January 6

at 10:30 in the PAC. This is a Sit or Stand class.

(No Yoga Mats needed). If you enjoy Tai Chi, you may enjoy

the new Yoga Stretch Class, a basic easy Yoga class with calming music,

encouraging deep breathing and gentle stretching.

60 Days of Exercise

We are always looking for new ways to encourage exercise at Kirby Pines.

Beginning January 1, we’ll have a chart in the Oasis for your name and

graph to chart how often participants exercise for the 60 days in January and

February. Walking, Nu-step, exercise classes and other exercise routines can

be credited on your tracking how often you exercise. Every

day you exercise will be added up. The person with

the most days of exercise will win two tickets

for an Exquisite Cuisine dinner. Register in

the Oasis beginning December 14th to get

your name on the chart. Get your NewYear

off to a great start.

Here some ideas to make your

holiday a little more healthy:

On the first day of Christmas:

put on your walking shoes.

On the second day of Christmas:

put on your walking shoes,

Walk to Hall L and back

On the third day of Christmas:

put on your walking shoes,

Walk from L to I and back.

On the fourth, day of Christmas:

Find a friend to walk with you

around the lake.

On the fifth day of Christmas:

Walk to the Oasis on the

first floor near the grill.

On the sixth day of Christmas:

Walk to the Oasis and

Learn to use the Nustep

On the seventh day of Christmas:

Use the Nustep for 15 minutes

On the eighth day of Christmas:

Learn to use the resistance

equipment for upper body

On the ninth day of Christmas:

Learn to use the resistance

equipment for lower body

On the tenth day of Christmas:

Join an exercise class

On the eleventh day of Christmas:

Bring a friend to an exercise class

On the twelfth day of Christmas:

Take a rest then start again.
