Wellness Clinic
Dr. Bohlman & the University of Ten-
nessee Medical Group are now in the
Wellness Clinic every Tuesday 9:00 am
to 12:00 pm& Thursday 1:00 pm to 4:30
pm.

Flu
Shots
The Rx Shoppe will be returning this
year to give flu shots to our Residents.
There will be at least 2 dates with the
first being Wednesday, October 2nd &

th, from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. in the
Large Card Room. There will be at least
one more date, but he is working to ar-
range staffing at the store while several
of his regulars are here to administer
shots. They need a picture ID and their
Medicare or other insurance card with
them for the shots. They can pick up
their form ahead of time in the Wellness
Center. For any additional information
call the Wellness Center 369-7309.

Prayer Group
Join the Kirby Pines Prayer Group every
first and fourth Tuesday in the Chapel
at 10:30 am as we pray for friends and
family.

with Soft Fire Duo
Join the Soft Fire Duo Friday October

th, at 6:00 pm in the Lobby. The group
is made up of a saxophonist/Vocalist Al-
fred Rudd, a retired educator and musi-
cian for Abyssinian Missionary Baptist
Church and keyboardist Ricky Berry-
hill, retired City of Memphis employ-
ee and musician for New Philadelphia
Church. The two have been together
for more than twenty years and have a
repertoire that includes Jazz Standards,
Latin American, Blues, Popular and
Gospel songs.

Travelers Meeting
Calling all adventurous spirits! Let’s get
on the road again! Meet with the Kirby
Pines Travelers on Wednesday, Octo-
ber 2nd, at 10:30 am in the Large Card
Room for the monthly meeting. At this
meeting they will be discussing the up-
coming day trip to Halls, TN for shop-
ping at Charlene’s Collectables, visiting
the Veteran’s Museum and having lunch
at The Just Divine Tea Room. Deadline
for sign up and payment is October 8th,

December’s upcoming trip to Branson,
MO will also be discussed.

Senior Day
at the Zoo
The Professional Network on Aging is
partnering with the Zoo to bring you an-
other Senior Day. Seniors age 55 and up
will receive free parking and admission
to the Zoo with entertainment in the
Primate Pavilion and special stations
throughout the Zoo! Sign up in trans-
portation, the bus leaves at 9:30 am and
will return to Kirby at 1:00 pm.

Shuffleboard in the
Performing Arts Center
Shuffle on up to the PAC and have some
fun playing shuffleboard! Relieve stress
by getting your mind off of things, so-
cialize and engage in some friendly com-
petition. Shuffleboard will be held every
Wednesday in the PAC at 10:00 am &
every Saturday in the PAC at 4:00 pm.

Bowling
Come join the fun every Wednesday af-
ternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large Card
Room. No skill required. It’s new and
it’s FUN! NEWS FLASH: You can now
play Wii with friends or your grandkids
any time in the Large Card Room! It is
set up on the TV; all you have to do is
check out the remotes from the Front
Desk and return them whenever your
game is over.

First Monday
Poetry Group
The First Monday Poetry Group meets
in the Ante Room on Monday, October
7
th at 10:00 am. Everyone is welcome.
Come to listen; come to read; come to
recite from memory. Share a favorite
verse or two as others share their verse
with you. Every first Monday at 10:00
am all poetry lovers have a spot. Check
out The Poet’s Corner on the post office
bulletin board. A residential poet will be
featured each month.
