Memorable Musicals:
The Wizard of Oz
In honor of The Wizard of Oz’s 75th
Anniversary, We are showing this
memorable musical that tells the tale
of Dorothy and her dog Toto who are
swept away by a tornado from their
home in Kansas to the magical land of
Oz. They set off on a quest down a yel-
low brick road to see the Wizard, who
can help them return home.  Will be
shown at 6:30 pm in the Movie Theater.

Fresh Water”
In this segment of the Planet Earth doc-
umentary series learn about the fresh
water on our planet which makes up
only 3% of the world’s water despite
its relative scarcity, all life on land is
ultimately dependent on it. Follow the
course taken by rivers and some of the
species that take advantage of such a
habitat. Will be shown, Wednesday, Oc-
tober 16th at 2:00 pm & 6:30 pm in the
Movie Theater.

Mountains
In this segment of the Planet Earth doc-
umentary series learn about the moun-
tain ranges that cover our earth. Start-
ing with Ethiopia’s  Erta Aleon on to
the Andes, the Alps, the Rockies, the
Himalayas watch as these ranges are
explored with extensive aerial pho-
tography and the creatures that inhabit
them up close. Will be shown Wednes-
day, October 9th at 2:00 pm & 6:30 pm
in the Movie Theater.

Crafts Fair
Come to the Pink Palace to enjoy Fine
Crafts, Traditional & Culinary Crafts,
Demonstrating Crafts, Country Kitchen
and special music by Joyce Cobb. Pre-
sented by Creative Aging Mid-South,
the fair will be held at Audubon Park in
East Memphis on Friday, October 11th
with a $1.00 admission fee. Bus leaves
at 12:30 and will be there from 1-3 pm.

Orchestra
Join the Iris Orchestra for an open re-
hearsal on Saturday, October 12th.
Guest artist & pianist Peter Serkin will
be playing pieces by Adam Schoen-
berg, Beethoven and Mozart. Tickets

leaving at 9:15 am, sign up in transpor-
