Poetry Group

Come to listen; come to read; come to

recite from memory. Share a favorite

verse or two as others share their verse

with you. Everyone is welcome. Check

out “The Poet’s Corner” on the post of-

fice bulletin board where a residential

poet will be featured each month. The

group meets in the Ante Room every

first Monday at 10:00 am.

Bowling

Come join the fun every Wednesday

afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Large Card

Room. No skill required. It is set up on

the TV; all you have to do is check out

the remotes from the Front Desk and re-

turn them whenever your game is over.

Advanced Water Aerobics classes will

be held on Mondays & Wednesdays at

8:30 am. Basic and Beginning Water

Aerobics is on Tuesdays & Thursdays at

9:30 am. Men’s Water Aerobics are held

on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:30 am.

Arthritis Sit/Stand classes are on Tues-

days & Thursdays at 11:00 am in the

Arts & Crafts Room.

Kirby Pines

Travelers Meeting

Calling all adventurous spirits! The

Travelers are back in action and will be

meeting to discuss upcoming trips for

2015 & 2016 which is just around the

corner. The group meets on the first

Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am

in the Large Card Room. This month’s

meeting will start at 9:30 am so every-

one can get on the bus to go to the Zoo

after the meeting.

Island at War, Episode 1

“Eve of the War”

Island at War is based on a fictional slice

of the Channel Islands, this engrossing

series follows three families caught on

the islands at the beginning of World

War II, capturing their experiences as

they grapple with the stress of daily life

and global conflict. Showtimes 1:30 &

6:30 pm in The Movie Theater.

Prayer Group

Join this encouraging and inspirational

group as they pray for themselves and

those in need. This is a non-denomi-

national group. They meet at 10:30 am

in the Chapel every 1st Tuesday of the

month.

Senior Day at the

Memphis Zoo

Don’t miss this fun day at the famous

Memphis Zoo. Seniors will receive free

admission, tram-rides and access to the

exhibits such as Ancient China. North-

west Passage and the Teton Trek! Sign

up in Transportation. Bus leaves at 10:15

am and will return to Kirby at 2:00 pm.

Join Germantown Church of Christ’s

Dave Phillips as he leads a non-denomi-

national group Bible study every Thurs-

day at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Dave is a

great speaker and teacher.

duo Grassfire

Join us in the Lobby for the vocals and

guitar of Brad Robb along with his part-

ner Terry Ferguson on banjo. They are

guaranteed to make you tap your toes

and clap your hands. Friday, October 2,

at 6:00 pm in the Lobby.

Join us for a fun filled evening of BIN-

GO! Entry costs only $1 per card, with

an opportunity to win up to two prizes.

Flu Shots

They’re Back!! The Rx Shoppe will be

here on Tuesday and Wednesday Octo-

ber 6 & 7 to administer Flu and Pneu-

mococcal vaccines for the 2015-16 Flu

season. The location will be the Large

Card Room from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

with a lunch break at noon both days.

Please bring any and all insurance cards

you may have with you to present before

you get your vaccination. For any addi-

tional information or questions, please

contact the Wellness Center at Kirby

Pines: 369-7309.

Fall Festival

Come one, come all, and have a blast

at our Annual Fall Festival. Tuesday,

October 6, from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Bluff

City Balloons will be bringing their new

balloon “High Jinx”, which has a door

for easier access! We will have live Blue-

grass music by Minor Street Strings,

Awesome Dogs and Central BBQ will

be on site selling their food. Guests are

welcome to come enjoy the festivities

and may ride in the balloon for a $5.00

donation with proceeds going to the

National Breast Foundation.

Farmer’s Market

Kirby Pines farmers’ brought to us by

Peach World has seasonal fresh vege-

tables, fruits and everyone’s favorite to-

matoes. They will be in the hallway by

the grill every Wednesday from 10:30 to

2:00 pm.
