WINNERS OF THE

2016 POETRY CONTEST

Gail Waldrop was the clear winner of the First Monday Poetry Group’s

2016 Contest. Her poem, “Maine Coast” was first in the Freedom

Category and “Grandmother – A Remembrance” won first in the

Anything Goes Category. Both poems will be featured this month on

the Poet’s Corner Bulletin Board in the Estate’s Post Office.

Winners were announced by Contest Chairman, Berry Terry.

Certificates and prizes were presented by contest judge Andy

Saunders and Group Coordinator, Val Reed. Remaining winners in

the Freedom Category were Peggy Latham, second, Val Reed, third

,and Gail Kommer, Honorable Mention.

Winners in the Anything Goes Category were Val Reed, second, Dr.

Joe Scott, third, and Peggy Latham, Honorable Mention.
