Tramaine is a very hard worker, with a great attitude and initiative. He has excellent
customer service skills and often does things for other departments and employees
without being asked. He always goes above and beyond what is expected of him
to ensure everything runs smoothly. He is willing to set-up, work and break-down
special events and is always helpful and dependable.

If you think shuffleboard, bingo or a leisurely stroll are retirement activities at Kirby
Pines, think again! On Saturday, March 21st, a group of residents from Kirby Pines
Retirement Community decided to live life in the fast lane at the RustyWallace Racing
Experience in Millington.
While they didn’t quite “shake and bake”, residents suited up and went for a 3-lap spin
around the track at speeds up to 121 miles per hour.
“Our seniors are always willing to try a new experience,” said Kirby Pines activity
director Cheryl Grimes. Resident, PatWatson simply stated, “It sounded like something
exciting to do, and at our age, we need all the excitement we can get!”
One special resident is no stranger to thrill seeking. Former Army jumper and former
Shelby County Schools Superintendent, Jim Anderson, was more than prepared for
the day. When asked how he thought going 121 miles per hour would compare to
being superintendent he noted, “Well, obviously there’s some stress.”
Both Action News 5 and Local 24 Memphis came out and covered the excitement
at Memphis International Raceway and featured the story on their nightly news
broadcast. If you missed them, both can be viewed on our website:
www.kirbypines.com on the NEWS & EVENTS page or find them on the Kirby Pines Facebook Page.
